Hi there!.

From the prices given, it seems to me that you are located in Norway - just as I am. Unfortunately, the prices in Norway are nothing but scary. You should buy abroad if you are planning a trip abroad. From what I remember, you are allowed to bring any new item from abroad valued upto kr 6000 without having to pay any duty on it..

About the choice, I have no doubt what I would have chosen. The 450D is the most expensive, but it is also the one with more (and better) features if you want to take photography seriously..

Med vennlig hilsen,.

Andre.

Sony A200 is better choice at the price. Don't worry too much about superficial differances. The lens is more important part for these cameras. So it is better to spend as less on body as possible (without losing too much on IQ)..

Another consideration you may want to consider is resale value. Since Nikon and Canon are the most popular, they generally tend to depreciate the least, especially lenses. If and when you get to the point that you want to sell your equipment, the old rule of supply and demand comes into play..

Otherwise, as stated by the other posters, it's hard to go wrong with just about any camera made today..

Good luck!.

Thx, for the link and help  (Note: I'm from Denmark).

I have trimmed the choise down to Olympus 420 and Olympus 510 - can anyone then tell me pros and cons on these to specific cameraes ..

If you are going olympus go the 520 instead of the 510.Why go with the older outdated technology?Nikon D60 18-55vr & 55-200vrSB400Casio Z750..

Because the e520 is not yet landed in DK and it's price is a lot more ..

Olympus has the smallest dSLR sensors with all the problems and the advantages that come with it..

If you want image stabilization don't get E420 that has not it and since the Olympus chose to have in body stabilization and there are no stabilized lens for that mount (as far as I know)..

Why you didn't include Nikon and Pentax that have good offerings for entry level (Nikon D40, Nikon D60, Pentax K100 and Pentax K200)?VictorBucuresti, Romaniahttp://s106.photobucket.com/albums/m268/victor_petcu/http://picasaweb.google.com/teodor.nitica/..

E510 for the win then. If you are looking for Oly specific info at this point your best bet would be to go over to the Oly specific forum and post them there. tehre are a bunch of people happy and able to answer any and all questions about them....

Enjoy your new camera, you'll like it...

On these forums going to choose a camera for you? Do a little homework other then looking up prices. You want us to choose your car? Your home? Your next pair of shoes?.

Think about what/how/where you will use the camera and then see this link..

Is it possible to ask what car I should take?.

I ask because I want to know other oppinions - maybe someone have a good reason to take the one camera instead of the other?!..

You don't understand. A camera is a personal item. It has to fit YOUR hand, YOUR eye. You will seldom find people on these forums that will say I don't like my DSLR. They don't say this for 2 reasons. First few people like to admit mistakes.

And most of the time it is the correct choice FOR US..

You can read the reviews and specs. You, supposedly know how you want to use the camera. Ignore the numbers and recommendations. Most of the DSLRs will be Highly Recommended anyway. Again think about how you are going to use the camera and compare it with the reviews ignore what doesn't matter to you. As an example Oly's often get negative comments about their high ISO performance.

I seldom shoot inside so High ISO performance is not that big a deal to me. But I have 0 idea of iif it is important to YOU. So my opinion is absolutely useless..

Beginners often post "I have narrowed my choice between xxx and yyy. Which should I choose?" and they have never even held any DSLR camera!!!.

Then you will get posters that say "Oly doesn't have a good prime portrait lens so I would avoid it". I have an Oly and don't give a flip about a portrait lens. I don't shoot portraits so who cares. The opinion is again meainingless unles the question is "I want to shoot portraitswhich of these systems do you recommend?".

Therefore what I said stands. Do your homework. If you don't know what the different terms mean look them up in the glossary. If you don't want to do the homework...DONT by a DSLR. They will all require large amounts of practice and homework..

I'm not being mean and I hope it doesn't come across that way but your not going to get what you want listing every DSLR available and then asking what should I get to a bunch of people you don't know and regardless of their expertise and good intentions since they have no idea of your usage, physical size, etc their advice is mostly useless..

JimOlympus E-510 and a bunch of stuff to hang on it...
