Two of my last four sales at Sedo have fallen through because the buyer wouldn't pay. Now a third seems likely, and it's starting to get old. While the domains are not hugely valuable, $750 is nothing to sneeze at. But what can be done if a buyer doesn't pay, especially if he lives in a different country? Anything?.

After 10 working days, I got Sedo's form letter and the buyer's incomplete snail mail contact e-mail address and no user name. In my case, the contact info was incomplete but had enough info enough to track down the full address in the UK.

I e-mailed the guy, but he didn't answer, of course. What now? It's probably not worth spending much time or money on, and I realize there's a just-move-on attitude that may be legit; it's just that Sedo reps seem so uninterested in helping that I'm as disgusted with them as much as with the non-buyer.

To make matters worse, I've got the same transactiion rep again, and again it looks like a deadbeat buyer.

I'm just wondering if there is some kind of strategy that may goad him into paying...or if he and Sedo both get to skate on this.

The address Sedo gave me:.

Alli Kosari.

Enterprise house.

United Kingdom.

The real address:.

Ali Kosari.

Enterprise House, 83A W Rd.

Hove, East Sussex BN3 1JB,.

United Kingdom.

Not much you can, or sedo will do...unless it's a major sale at like... a moniker live sale... will there be much recourse...

Sedo has to do what a Canadian auction house does in this case - charge their CC a $500 penalty fee. They must sign up with a valid credit card before being able to bid - and if they flake out - they pay for it. They sign a binding contract to that effect as well. That would put an end to these non-paying clods real fast...

I help broker a medium sized domain sale with Moniker way back about 8 months ago. The winning bidder still hasn't paid and Moniker hasn't done anything except say that the winning bidder won't pay.....

I think with this thread you've given enough headsup and warning to people that will deal with this individual...

My first sale on Sedo was a non-payer. Yes, they should clean up their act a bit.

But, looking at it another way, this is just a sign of an immature and undeveloped market...the wild west. If the market ran as well as the stock market or Forex markets, there would be far, far fewer opportunities to make huge profits.

Aside from sending a couple of paid thugs to his house to collect for you, there is not much you can do except move on (and spread the word about the guy)...

Posting the flake's info on a public forum for every bot to spider, such as you have, seems like a good start...

But the retailer has a signed agreement from them stating they authorize the charge...

Yeah as long as they can prove a signed agreement to the effect of the charge for a backed out deal, then they could probably fight the chargeback...
