They are called Tofu Shirataki Noodles. They count as a vegetable, they are a vegetable (root of something) - take a look at L&G: 1/2 a cup is a portion = 20 calories.

You can get them at "Wholefoods" it is in the refrigerator (by the eggs or cheese) - it is an 8oz. clear packet of noodles in a liquid of some sort.

I found it last week - and love it. You have to wash them very well (there is a funky smell to them) and then you dry them one minute in the microwave. After that you should cook them, stir fry them with another vegetable/tomato or mushrooms. It is awesome. Good luck to you...

Actually, they are basically just fiber, they are "empty". They have no vitamins or minerals like real veggies, so they should be used sparingly. They are also called, Miracle Noodles, Konjack Noodles, etc..

Nutrition support recommends the "alternative noodles" be consumed sparingly during the Weight Loss phase of MF...

I'm in the minority here, but I think they are a chewy tastless product, not worth the effort it takes to fix them...

Just be aware there are two different kinds of noodles. One is made with Tofu and the other is made with the Japanese tuber, Konjac. The Konjac (sometimes called Yams) noodles are lower in carbs than the tofu, but tend to have more of the funny smell. Both are void of any real nutritional value and count towards your vegetable intake...

They are a different taste and texture. They remind me of chicken long rice and cellophane noodles. They definitely are not Semolina pasta or egg noodles...

I agree. I think styrofoam peanuts would be more tasty than these "noodles"...

I agree, more a filler, so far I only like them sauted, with vegetables like a stir fry,..

I generally only use them in a stir-fry and I only use them for half my veg measure. They're filling but not nutritious!..
