I use a domain (LnL.net domain ) and have for many many many many years as my email.

The /img/avatar4.jpg has recently went to jail and has no chance of getting out ... The domain is reg'd tell 2010 w/ godaddy.

Any way to try to get this domain from go daddy?..

Ask the owner if you can have it. Get login name and password from owner. Push domain to your account...

Ex employee changed the passwords to all his stuff..

Have owner correspond with GoDaddy by mail to get new password...

If you really want the name bad enough, ask owner if you can have it, get it in writing, hire lawyer, go after ex-employee...

Made many attempts to write him in jail.

Guess ill just go at it when it drops and pay out the ass at auction lol.

Its a LnL.net so nothing big just alot of history..

Out of curiosity, what did you friend do to get life in prison?..

I'm sure it's not hard to figure out.

Not many things you can do to get life man..

So you want to steal a domain and asking how to go about it? Why not ask for his house or his car or his girl, he won't be using them either......

I don't think he is asking how to steal it.

And if you want a super easy solution....get a new email address...

"any way to try to get this domain from go daddy?".

That's how I read it. I was just being blunt since The registrant owns the domain, not GoDaddy (let's spare the ownship arguement for later lol)...

First, make sure he wants you to have it, or will let you have it for something in return. If so, he can sign a written contract (probably notarized) to sell it to you that may make the process easier. If he doesn't voluntarily give or sell, you'll have to wait and try the drop services.

Once you've got proof of purchase then you can talk to godaddy about getting access if neither he nor you have the login...

He is saying he tried contacting the registrant but received no answer, and is now asking how he can get it from godaddy. Right now, it looks like the guys own it until 2010 unless he does something with it. He can still give it to someone or have someone renew it for him. Or it just may drop in 2010...

You might have to pay a lot more than the usual drop price ($60) if the domain is popular, old and has backlinks. And who know's by 2010, LNL.nets prices could go higher than what they are right now...

Jeepers, aren't all three letter doms like, worth a fortune? (Even a dot net one?) Sounds like you'd have to pay thousands to get it the hard way.

Hey, if the thing's worth so darn much, maybe his ex-pals framed him for the crime so they could rob the dom for themselves. Just a thought...

What do you mean by "I use a domain name?".

Are you the registrant of the domain name, and the GD account owner is incarcerated?.

Yeah... I "use" a domain name too - gmail.com. That doesn't make it mine...
