Just need to rant a bit. I encountered someone I know who has lost a lot of weight herself. She noticed my weight loss and then started to give me nutritional advice. Now, I still have quite a bit of weight to lose, but the whole thing that prompted her comments was that I've lost weight! I'm doing something right, yes? I've found something that is working for me. So, what is wrong with saying, "Good job!" and letting me have my victory? I bit my tongue and tried to stay positive because I didn't want to deal with a emotional kerfluffle at the time, but it's still bothering me..

Once I lose and transition, maybe I'll move somewhere no one knows me and not have to deal with it. Grrrrrr...

I know what you mean! Good job biting your tongue! I know it's hard! Keel up the good work!..

"Kerfluffle", now that's a word you don't hear everyday! Good job avoiding it!..

Way to hold your tongue! You are right, it is just not worth getting into a discussion about! She was probably just trying to help even though it was not needed or wanted! Just ignore it and move on! You are doing great!..

I'm kind of with you on moving somewhere after I've reached goal so that nobody there ever knows I was obese and I never have to talk about it again.

Excellent kerfluffle avoidance...

Don't you hate that? And it's usually from someone who once hated when others did that to them before they lost weight. But now that they lost a good chunk of it or are at goal...suddenly they're the expert. UGH!..

I TOTALLY know what you mean. Other times in the past, I'd tell everybody about my "new diet" because I thought it would help me get support. More often than not, it just got me a lot of "Food Police" bugging me about my choices and waiting for me to fail. This time, I'm on the boards with my Medifast support buddies all the time, but other than that, I'm keeping the whole thing to myself as much as possible. I won't be able to hide it at Christmas though, when I see my family again - not if I lose as much weight as I'm hoping! Can't hide it then - and I'm not looking forward to the drama!..
