Too many carbs during Medifast?

Today is day 1. Would it hurt to have a salad mid morning/lunch to help with food craving? Or is there to many carbs and not be able to eneter Ketosis state?..

Try working the plan as is. You could consider splitting your L&G into two to help food craving if 3 hours is too long to wait for now. Like having the half your green (the salad), then your full lean and other half of green for dinner..

There is a 4&2 plan for people with more than 50 lbs to lose or are very active; however, if you aren't diligent, you could knock yourself out of ketosis...

I would think a salad with only lettuce and vinegar would be ok, no tomatoes, no toppings, definitely no croutons! But, then again, I'm new here and may be giving bad advice, but those are my two cents. Good luck!.

The hunger will go away I'm on day 6 and feeling good!.

When I am very hungry, I often have part of my L&G at lunch. You could have 1 c salad greens with your lunch, and you'd still have 2 veg servings and your lean for dinner...

Medifast does say that if you're too hungry the first few days, that you can have an extra Medifast meal...

The packet I got said that if you are really hungry you can go ahead and add and extra shake to get you through...

You can add another Medifast meal, you can have a couple pickle spears, I think it is 5 olives, 1/2c. sugar free jello, some people will take their servings of veggies for the day and cook them with 2 c. egg beaters and split in half. I have not had egg beaters but hear it is a huge meal. It would be perfectly fine to split one of those in half...

Hello fellow golfer!.

I found the 4&2 to be very, very helpful while I got through the first 25 pounds or so. It's actually 4, 2 &1... but you do need to log your food to see what your carbs are for the day. The goal is under 100. You may wind up having to eat a 4th Medifast meal that is a little lower in carbs. But it works great. I highly recommend it, and you will find that it will make golf a lot easier, too..
