Hi.
I bought the Nikon D60 on friday. Wasn't gonna buy so soon, but theyhad a special kit on special. You know how sales people can get,"All of them will probably be sold out in a few days. Buy as soon aspossible to prevent dissapointment!". But, they only had 4/5 boxesin stock and were not getting any more so maybe he was right.....
Well, I've got it now, anyways. Nice comfortable camera, not toosmall, unlike I imagined. I'm waiting on my accessories delivery atthe moment so haven't been able to use it yet..
Hi, welcome and Congratulations on your new camera Christine!.
Regardless of whether they would be sold out or not, you got yourself a great camera. The D60 is the successor to the D40/D40x, and I've heard all good things about it..
I have the D40x, and it feels very comfortable (the D60 is the same size). Even when I decide to purchase a "better" or semi-pro camera, such as the D300, I will keep this great little camera as a back up. But don't be fooled, these cameras can definitely produce professional pictures if handled correctly. I am not a pro by any means, but you can click on my link below to see what the "older" version of your D60 can do..
So again, congrats, welcome, and hope to see you here and on the D80-40 forum with your picture posts!.

Thanx for the great welcome!.
I hope I will get to post a lot of photos. With the long hours I work, I have to make the most of my weekends to get a lot of photos in..
This is really my favourite forum, everyone is so helpful, I have never gotten a snide remark after saying or asking something stupid.....
Thanx ..
Thanx for posting the link. I browsed though it quickly, and noticed that most of your photos represent the kind of photography I will mainly be doing..
We plan on going on many safari holidays, game drives and we love nature..
They helped me to see what I will hopefully be able to do (the only shorfall will be my own skill)..
Which lenses do you use the most for your landscape and nature photos?..
I am surprised your bought something so soon as well. I am really interested to know how you like it. So definitely let us know what you think as compared to your previous purchase. I think your on the right track and will be very pleasantly surprised. Mary..

I mostly use the 18-55 kit lens, along with the 55-200VR. Next on my list is the Sigma 10-20mm wide angle lens..
Enjoy your camera !.
