That's a good question. Can't wait for the answers...
So far just hanging in there doing what I've been doing all along. Weight loss has slowed down but I expected it at this point in time...
I haven't really used condiments or snacks this whole time, but now that i'm getting closer to goal I'm being a lot more diligent about exercise since my base calorie burning rate is lower than when I was 30 pounds heavier..
For the last 10 lbs I stayed true to MF, no additions like baking powder, syrup etc. I had snacks if I needed them but no jazzing up of the food. I also ate more chicken/turkey and lowest carb veggies. I did not lose that fast and this did help. I lost 36 lbs in 4.5 months and have maintained for 4 mos. Personal choice, you will reach goal as long as you stay OP. Be sure to follow T&M as written, it works!..
I think having to restrict as one gets closer to goal can depend on whether you start incorporating more exercise or not. I started the 4&2 plan in July as I started doing 60 minutes of cardio 4-5 days/week. Consequently, I routinely get 1050 to 1200 calories a day. When I made this switch, I also started eating at higher end of the carb scale, 90-100 each day. I don't think that my percentage of loss has slowed down all that much, though I haven't done the math. But depending on one's circumstances, such as adding in vigorous exercise, getting more calories and carbs can sometimes keep the scale moving down at a decent pace...
I never used condiments or ate snacks so that hasn't been a factor. I have fine-tuned my exercise to keep me in the "zone", increased my water intake slightly, but my losses were consistent up to the end of 5&1. I'm in my first week of transition now and feeling great...
I never really made too many recipes from the foods anyway so I didn't really change alot. I did up my exercise and toning though to build muscle..
I never doctored up the Medifast foods or used snacks so I can't help there. I did start eating at the higher end of the carb scale though since transition is to help slowly bring you out of ketosis. So I was eating around 80-95g carbs a day instead of my usual 70-80. That seemed to help a lot...
I didnt really do anything different other than staying true to the 5&1 plan. I rarely used the optional snacks to begin with so that wasnt an issue...
I kept everything the same..
I added Yoga in to my exercise routine and did transition exactly the way it was supposed to be done (lost an additional 8 lbs. in transition)...
