Well I'm unsure, I'm no expert on japan domain names but here is a bit of an off topic thought..

I know that the Japan market and basically Asian overseas market has been growing extremely fast in the past few years, and more and more computers are going online over there, I could imagine the lack of quality Japan sites, I'm sure there are lots of quality ones but if you could write a decent page in your own language and convert it over and target that part of the world it may yield some good results..

I'm sure your already aware of all that, hence the .jp domain name but it's interesting to think about how much of an influence they could have on the market...

Yeah, I have considered it from that point of view too - just not done anything about it..

I was more just wondering about the value of a domain for it's keywords alone..

I mean would you pay more for or ??..

I'd have a look at both of those keywords first, for instance if "acehomeloans4u" or "ace home loans 4 u" has some difficult competition and "home loans" or "homeloans" doesn't get that much competition I would consider using but it also depends on how much traffic both of these keywords get..

Plus if your going to go with a .jp domain name and are targeting people in Japan the keyword "home loans" might not have any competition, it might be very competitive in english but on a popular Japan search engine it might have high traffic but zero competition..

This is a hard one to think about but as far as I know having your main keyword in your title and in your URL will help out with your rankings...

Yeah, I am experimenting with that..

I bought a high volume, high competition keyword combination with a .jp extension just to see if I could get it ranked. MSN ranked it low, google and yahoo didn't rank it at all for that keyword phrase..

It is getting ranked on all of them for subpages aimed at less competitive keyword terms though..

The experiment continues.....

In terms of SEO, a keyword in a domain name does help to rank well in Search engines. It mostly followed by search engines like MSN and Yahoo. As far as Google is concerned, they do not give much importance to a keyword in a domain name.Infact they give more importance to backlinks...
