Advice for both of you, start cutting back on breads, sugar and other carbs now. A bit part of the sick feeling is your body detoxing from carbs. If you have fewer carbs before you start, you MAY have less severe symptoms..
Welcome to you and your daughter!..
Congratulations on your new journey! It's great that you and your daughter are going to do this together you will be a great support to one another. I am starting on Tuesday and just did the same thing myself (cleaning out the pantry, fridge and freezer). Although I don't have any advice for you on the the "hunger" front, my friend and her daughter have done this together for the past 4 months and they are now starting the transition phase. From what I remember my friend did not have much of an issue with the hunger, however her daughter did. She ate every 2 hours when she was hungry. Make sure you drink lots of water, that will usually help with hunger. Much luck to you!..
Thanks. Sounds like good advice. One day to do it. Congrats on reaching your goal!..
You can find the TEEN GUIDE here listed under Guides and Tools; hope this is helpful to you as well; wishing you much success to the both of you!!.
Welcome to you both. Be sure to take it easy the first several days, I tired real easy and did have the headache that you often get when going into ketosis. Being on plan with your daughter will be good support for her, since you both will be having the same meals. I haven't actually seen any teen groups online. In the beginning when I was adjusting to the program I found pickles to be helpful, you can have a few spears a day..
Make sure you eat every 2-3 hours and always have L&G on hand, thawed, and available so you won't be tempted to eat something off-plan because it is more convenient. Check out recipes, there are some good L&G recipes on the boards. One of my favorites is a cauliflower crust pizza. Your daughter will probably find that bars, pretzels, and puffs -things that are portable, are easiest for her school day...
Good luck! I just finished week one and lost 9 lbs. Stayed OP, drank TONS of water and read the boards often. All week's won't be like this one, but enjoying the jumpstart after a challenging week of readjusting my diet and thinking. If I can do week 1, you can do it, too! Rooting for you!..
Sounds like good plan - water & discussion boards! That was an awesome first week! Keep it up!..
