Taking/editing/cutting indoor photos
Hi, I am trying to take pics of items I am selling on ebay. They are mostly of clothes, on a mannequin. I tried a few areas in the house and it seems that the best place is the bathroom  with it hung on the curtain rod because that helps eliminate shadows and gets it up in the light. I really like clothing photos on ebay that have the background completely white. So far, the pics come out satisfactory, but when I use the magic wand to highlight the background and cut it, the edges of the clothing look jagged. (I guess because there are shadows at the edge?) So, what I've been doing is cutting it freehand...

I am very new to SLRs and am using a Canon 350D, but don't really know anything about it yet!..

Try taking a look at the extract Filter. Its under the Filter (obviously) menu in CS2 I assume it's the same in CS3 or essentials. You may have some jaggies but you can use the eraser tool to get rid of them pretty quickly..

To make the original image better you might want to get a good white sheet and just pin it up against the wall..

Good luck.

Sorry I thought that you were using Photoshop since that is what many people use. My mistake. I'm sorry I can't help, other then suggesting the white sheet as a background..

Good luck.
