Welcome to the Medifast Fam Angela! And yes ... if you'd of read the boards before starting you'd know to avoid the oatmeal for the first week or so Oh well - everything else you have today will be fabulous compared to the oatmeal -which I now love by the way. Your tastes will change after being on the plan for awhile.

All the best to you ... you'll do great - just follow the plan.

Hi, Angela! I'm starting today, too! I'm pumped up and I know we can do this! Way to go on actually choking down the oatmeal. I am waiting on that one for about a week or a month. Maybe a year, lol. I'm currently trying to get in 24 oz. of water before eating my chocolate mint crunch bar.

Let me know if you want to keep in touch!.

Ladies - Congrats and just stick with it!!!.

I now love the oatmeal though it took me 9 months in to really "appreciate it". Now it starts each day off for me even in maintinance .

One meal, one day at a time!!!! WOOO HOOO for you!.

Hi angela! welcome and good luck with your first week! I hate the oatmeal...i actually sold all of mine on e-bay. as you continue with the program, you will learn what Medifast foods you like and then you can order just them..

The good news is by starting with the oatmeal there is nowhere to go but up........LOL.

I love the oatmeal and actually have since the first day..

Good luck on your program..

Some people like it and some never learn to. Personally, I cannot do the oatmeal or the soup (tried over and over). Every meal has the same nutritional value so you really have the freedom to only use those items that you like. I mainly use two or three flavors of shakes, an occasional bar or pudding and the eggs maybe once or twice a week. I thoroughly look forward to and enjoy my lean and green every day. I think the key is to find what works for you within the limitations of the plan. You will be amazed at the results if you just follow through..

Welcome to Medifast and yes you will be surprised how your taste buds change..

Welcome to Medifast Angela! Good luck and I'm with you on the oatmeal...I still can't eat it! But there are plenty of other items that I love (honey mustard pretzels, dutch chocolate shake, chicken noodle soup) and I'm sure you'll find some favorites soon, too. You can do this!.

I love the terms choking down and gagging down. While this is not gourmet food, it works. I have seen others say they would eat the boxes this stuff comes in if it worked. The results are amazing and if you follow the plan you will lose weight quickly...Now I am going to choke down a Medifast cappuccino!.

The great thing about Medifast is that there are many choices now. I guess they give everyone oatmeal in the free week. They may not want to do that as it appears that oatmeal is not a good "ambassador" to the Medifast program. Have you tried making it as a muffin? It is more palatable as a muffin, in my opinion anyway..

Angelala - Good luck to you on your Medifast journey! I'm just starting my second week today and I can say some of the food is definitely more to my taste than others. I find I like the oatmeal better with more water, but I still can't handle the peach oatmeal. There are some recipes on these boards for cookies using the oatmeal - I tried the peanut butter cookies and liked them as an option for using the oatmeal..

I have a recipe for muffins made out of the oatmeal that is super yummy! Its in my blog.

Thanks for the welcome everyone! I ate all the oatmeal except for about 2 teaspoons and I am now enjoying a chocolate mint bar! Now this I like!!.
