My scale isn't in yet, and I want to do this right, but I got my food in today and really want to start. Should I wait for the scale for accurate measurements? Should I eyeball it (leaning to this)? Is there a lean that doesn't need to be weighed? I have venison and shrimp and fish.

Help!.

I WOULD WAIT TIL Monday that way you can have your last pig out before you start LOL..

Also that way you can be a "MOnday weigher" LOL.

If it's only for a day or so, go for it! 4 oz of meat is the size of a deck of cards. So you can judge from there..

I love your enthusiasmkeep it up!.

You can have 2 bocca burgers as your lean...they arent bad at all.

I forgot about the boca burgers and eggbeaters, thanks!.

Steph, I can't have a pig-out! Ive worked too hard to get down this much so far..

I would start in the morning I know it is Friday but...............

Why wait. If you're really committed to this, just do it. Maybe add "put up or shut up" out there with "suck it up princess"? 4oz of lean = deck of cards. You can use 1/2 cup measures for your green. I didn't have a working scale my first month on plan. Didn't seem to effect things much..

I still dont have a good scale and Im eyeballing it for the most part and reading a lot of labels. I bought a cheap 6 dollar scale at Walmart and it's basically worthless. Gotta go get a digital one this weekend....

I'd just go for it! Eyeball the food, first week you'll lose the biggest numbers anyway so if you're only off a tad it won't be catastrophic. Seems like when I started I eyeballed on the side of caution most of the time and ate too little. Once the "honeymoon" it's harder to do that honestly..

The only reason I'd wait till Saturday is if you have off work on the weekends. Its easier to stay OP if you're not juggling the first day with business. Good luck!.

I lost 7 pounds my first week while waiting for my food to arrive by mimicking the foods with store bought till the food arrived. Why wait? It could mean two to three weeks less of the program. I say give yourself a headstart! Good luck..

I say go for it. why wait...you have a great positive attitude...you can do it.

Yep, go for it!!! Just have the boca burgers, or cottage cheese which you can measure. You have your mind set already, so don't let it slip away! Best of luck!.

Dave, Bed bath and beyond sales the biggest loser scale for 19 bucks...its digital and holds up to 6.6 lbs....it rocks!!.

Go for it!!.

Strike while the iron's hot! Eyeballing portions would be better than not starting at all. There will always be a reason why you can't start, so just jump in and do it! You won't regret it..

I say start now! I'm so glad you are enthused...you are going to do great!!.

This is from the nutrition support (Getting Started With Medifast) Forum. It is 3 oz. of meat is about the size of 1 deck of cards.

To help with eyeing up serving sizes:.

3 oz cooked chicken, beef, thick fish= 1 deck of cards (try having 2 decks of cards for your lean serving).

* 3 oz cooked thinner fish (many white fishes)= 1 checkbook (try having 2 checkbooks worth of thinner fish).

* 1 ounce of cheese= 4 dice or size of adult thumb.

* 2 Tablespoons of salad dressing= a ping pong ball.

* 1 cup cooked veggies= 1 baseball (try to have 1 1/2 baseballs of your cooked veggies).

Go for it!!!.

I would start. Just eye ball your portions or stick to eggs, egg beaters, cottage cheese, and the cauliflower pizza recipe can be measured. So can the cauliflower mac & cheese. You can also purchase precooked chicken in 6 oz packages that are great for salads and stuff. A can of tuna is 3.5 oz after it is drained. I think those choices will be enough to get you through till you get a scale..

Thanks, y'all! I am definitely starting 100%OP tomorrow! Losn30, I've been doing exactly what you have, mimicking the foods as much as possible with Atkins shakes and bars, but doing 4&2. I'm already into ketosis, I guess from the headache that finally went away, improved mood, and a taste like iron in my mouth.

I had my "last meal" of "pizza". Made a shrimp and veggie pizza using the cauliflower crust. So delish! .

I've been active in the boards since I decided to change my life with Medifast, web before I ordered my food. Cant wait to see those week 1 results!.

Going get a tape measure and photo album tomorrow!!!.
