I posted this on the Dietians site, but haven't gotten a response and am curious. Do any of you know (I'm sure you do, cause you're all great at this.).

I am on the 5+1 plan. Today I was eating my L&G and got called away to an emergency work mtg. Is it OK if I eat the remaining portions of L&G with my dinner medifast bar? Or should all the L&G try to be ate at one setting? If I split my L&G, do I still have to eat a medifast meal?.

Thank you..

I split my L&G every day. I eat half at lunch and the other half at dinner.

You still need to get in your 5 Medifast meals daily, along with the L&G...

If you need to split your L&G, that's fine. Some people do it on a regular basis. You still need to eat your 5 Medifast meals for the day...

Try to split your meals (all of them L+G and 5+1) up so you are eating every 2-3 hours. Eating a Medifast meal with your slpit L+G may not be the best for eating every 2-3 hours...

Silkhair...what is your schedule?.

I'm up at 6 am.

I eat at.

7:45.

10.

12:30.

3.

6.

8.

In bed by 9...so according to the previous post if I have to split my L&G, do not eat it with my medifast meal???..

Yes, it's fine to eat the other half of your L&G with your bar for dinner..

When you split your l&g, it still only counts as 1, so you still need to make sure you get in all 5 Medifast meals for the day...

I split my L&G every day. You might try dropping the time between meals down to 2 hours so that you get all of your meals in (which is also good if you find yourself hungrier during 1 part of the day, like morning or afternoon) This is what I did to get all of my meals in...

*Ideally*, we should eat 5 Medifast meals and a L&G spaced every 2-3 hours..

Second best, eat all your meals in whatever timeframe you can fit them, even if you have to double up something to get them all in..

Not good: skipping one of the five Medifast meals or any part of the L&G...

This is a great thread. I am slowing the losing process this week because I have been so busy at work I only had 3 meals. By the time I got home and had my L&G, I didn't want my other two meals. I am just not hungry and am wondering if you are experiencing this issue too. I've split my L&G a few times last week, but didn't bring anything for lunch this week...

Nokiba, you must eat all 5 Medifast meals and a full weighed/measured L&G every day. If you're busy at work, bring in a travel mug with hot cocoa or chai, or a water bottle with fruit punch in it. Drink your Medifast meal if you can't stop work to eat. But do get a meal in every 2-3 hours all day long!..

Good suggestions Freya. I often do the water bottle of punch or mango drink when busy. Or, make a hot cocoa into a mocha by adding coffee and sip it.

Another idea is bars. I know we are supposed to eat slowly but I swear it only takes me a minute or two to eat a bar (especially if in a hurry)...

I split my L&G almost every day. It works great for me. I go to the gym every day, so for me, it just gives me more energy. For my evening meal, I eat 1/2 of L&G and a cup of soup or shake or whatever. That's the only change I make...
