SONY DSC 707- WHERE CAN I FIND 58 MM LENS ACCESSORIES?
In particular, I am looking for an inexpensive telephoto add on lens. I am new to /img/avatar2.jpgship, and didn't realize that this would be difficult to find...

Try B & H Photo @ www.bhphotovideo.com, or call 800-947-9927. They are probably the most complete supplier you'll ever find...

Try www.ckcpower.com, also go to any regular camera store, they sell a 1.8x universal telephoto adapter, made by Raynox, the problem is the size, is hard to find 58mm telephoto. But based on my experience, a 43mm will cause just a little vignete at full wide angle (black area on the edges of the picture) If you are really want to get close, look in my Web Page, I have a nice setup, is less than $150.

I was taking pictures of cars a little over 2 miles. www.homestead.com/don_justo/main.html..

From the information I have received from ckcpower, finding a lens or scope for the 707, that will not cause massive vignette is going to be difficult. The vignette is very apparent in the shots shown on Justo Andaluz's page. Maybe down the line we will see some attachments that are made specifically for the 707. The scope tests on ckcpower page are very nice but unfortunately not really an option for the 707 right now. I don't think I could deal with the cropping of a large image to end up with a 640x ??? image like Justo did...

I have had good luck at www.adorama.com for accesories for the 707. I bought an inexpensive wide-angle adapter at first and the glass was so bad I could not use it - not to mention the vignetting already mentioned.

Adorama.com had the Century adapter for a reasonable price and it looks great. I got the convertible model that switches to fish-eye. I got the threaded model so I could use it on the PD-150 and the F-707 cameras...

I am deliberating between purchasing a 35mm Nikon N80 vs Sony 717. A Film camera gives me the flexibility of using different lenses whereas I am stuck with one lens in a digicam. (I am aware of digi slr's but they are beyond my budget)! So how do these wide angle convertors work on a digicam lens? Could you Please let us know their performance? Haresh Vibhakar..
