Looks like the guy is Indian and trying to arbitrage your domain...
Make sure you change your password, there are a lot of stolen godaddy accounts floating around right now...
And make sure your password change confirmation email is safe and secure (or in the great trashcan in the sky) as that seems to be the preferred way to hijack domains..
I had a similar thing happen in the past - it was someone that tried to sell the domain for $x,xxx so that they could gauge how much they should pay for it themselves...
Its a pretty Shady practice. Frankly, the guy looks like a complete idiot for doing it. Your likely safe, but update all your PW's to be EXTRA safe. (locking the domain is also a solid move)...
Wow... good thing you caught it! wasn't there a somewhat similar issue a year or 2 ago where a person was contacting potential enduser buyers about domains they were in a "private auction" for (on snap or namejet I think) and looking to basically secure a sale before risking bidding on and winning a domain and, eventually, it got exposed when a TM holder was contacted regarding an auction? this isn't of the same caliber cheese considering the guy/gal is just looking to gauge interest amongst resellers on forums (or just looking to get paid for it but, of course, never push the domain since not in his account/control, which would make him a scammer rather than an opportunist) but it reminded me of that issue.....
I also had a thread brought to my attention on DP a few years ago where someone was listing several of my domains for sale.... is more than irritating...
ALways remember, this is DP you are talking about..
The land of spammers and scammers!..
Thanks a lot guys for all your help. Its a very good idea that I should trash the pwd change email. That didnt occur to me.
Yeh it's very irritating. Lucky for us google's so damn good at searching else i'd have never seen this. Maybe I should google all my other domains as well! Anyway thanks again guys, really appreciate all the ideas/suggestion and support!..
To think I once thoughts selling something at DufusPoint......err, I mean.
DigitalPoint. No regrets reconsidering...
Classic DimwitPoint.
We can not rule out the possibility of a mysterious force that is drawing stupid people to one forum...
