Hello...

Just thought I would share these images.. I used a point and shoot camera, and it was soooo hard to get good shots of the jellies at the aquarium (monteray bay, CA).. lot of Post production on the first jelly.. There is so much grain, non of the images are sharp at all... (hair pulling)... this is why I cant wait to get a nice dslr....

The golden gate bridge was also with the P&S camera, and just did a few photoshop effect...

Nice shot.. yours is much sharper...

I think it's a casio exilim. Its a point and shoot from best buy for like $110 or something.. the cameras at home and would have to check the exact make...

Well, I looked up the camera specs and although the lens is known to be a bit soft, I think that the camera should be capable of sharper images. Seems to me like a focus and depth of field issue. If you are going to get a dslr, you should have better control over camera settings and a much better lens. Meanwhile, I would suggest experimenting with macros shot with the current camera under ideal conditions. That is good light and perhaps a tripod. I know the conditions at the MBA.

That's a challenge for a lower end camera..

Good luck..

Neat shot of the model GG bridge! It almost looks real. How big is it? .
