I am so glad I read that. I lost 1 lb this week, despite be 100% OP, and I am so down on myself. Who knows, maybe the 1 lb I lost was the hardest 1 lb I will ever lose...

Thanks, that was just what I needed!!!!! Seem to be having a slow time also. Stick 100% OP but have decided that maybe I am a slow loser. Can't exercise much except walking due to a herniated disk. Had a spinal shot on Tuesday so hope this will help for a while. I try not to judge my weight loss by others. Do ya'll use spices and Splenda? I really try to stick to the 3 condiments per day but maybe some days I don't.
I really count Splenda, ketchup, mustard, salad dressing, etc. Also, I weigh my food. Think I am doing things right, so just decided I might take a little longer to reach my goal. But, hey, any loss is good. Right?..

A Medifast friend told me to think of one pound as 4 sticks of butter then imagine where would you put those rectangular logs of butter back on if you had to......gave me some perspective to a week I was whining about 2lbs. It was scary to think where I would attach 8 sticks of butter!..
Thanks Tess, I have been 100% OP and have lost only a pound for the last THREE weeks...that is 3 lbs in 3 weeks with NO cheating. It is tough to stay motivated. So today I am adding exercise and watching my water to make sure I get ALL of it in. I really need some positive results here soon. It seems physiologically impossible to eat 900 calories a day for three weeks and only lose 3 lbs. So I am hoping maybe my body will catch up all at once. Thanks for posting this for those of us struggling...
I'm going to chime in as a 1 lb. looser this week. I, too, felt that way with that one pound. Thanks for posting such a wonderful perspective!!! After reading that, I've come to appreciate my 1 lb. for what it really is. A step in the right direction........
It seemed this struck a chord with more than just one person. I'm glad that so many found it helpful! The other thing I might add is to give a call or post to the nutritionist if you're not losing. It might be something as simple as raising your calories by 100 cals. or to increase the length or intensity of your exercise..
Right now I'm losing better by eating between 900 - 1000 cals a day..

Hi I just had to comment on the poem it was great and on the spot I went 2 weeks with out losing and was op and I was really down I almost got off Medifast because it wasnt working than I lost 1 lb now it's 2 more so I'm so glad I stayed op and on Medifast I guess I'm also a slow loser.
You know the thing I keep in my mind as I'm a slow loser is that at least I lost. With so many other weight loss efforts I have had I either gained or the weight loss was even smaller than the 1 pound. So keep up the great work...
Tess, Great perspective. Someone on Biggest Looser just won $100,000 by loosing only 1 pound more than someone else. One pound does make a difference!!!!! In so many weighs. lol.
Picture how big one pound of hamburger is. Now take that off your waist. Awesome!.

I'm joining y'all in my 1 pound lost during Week 3, but luckily I took my measurements during Week 1 and decided to measure at end of Week 3..
Guess what? 3" lost in waist and 2" lost in hips!!.
Take those measurements and log them into My Plan and then re-measure every few weeks or soINCHES COUNT TOO!!!!.
As a person who is recommitting starting today, I appreciate that poem. I had been telling myself since this past October when I hit goal, and then was sliding back "just" one pound at a time, that it wasn't "anything to worry about too much... it is just a pound!". Then, after a couple of pounds a month, here I am getting back OP, but wiser for the experience.

Thanks for sharing. I have to keep reminding myself that if the scale barely moves...or stays the same, it is so much better than slowly creeping up the other direction. It's tough when I hear about how much everyone is losing each week...

I went immediately and measured myself so that I could see those results if the scale doesn't move (or even if it does). It was painful to see those numbers, but they will be going down, down, down..
Also, on the pounds, I remember that when I went to WW, they said to go to the grocery store and pick up the bag of 10 lb. potatoes and see what that 10 lbs felt like. Really, I was amazed when I realized how many 10 pound bags of potatoes I have on my body and how much better I will feel without those potatoes...
Thanks for the poem. It was just what I needed. Only lost 1 lb last week! Staying 100% on plan and was getting a little discouraged. Am trying not to compare my weight loss wit others. I think because I am older, it will take me a little longer. But, hey, there is still 21lbs less of me.

Hi, Tess, This is my first post, e-mail, whatever it's called. Your sense of humor, gardening, hot home (I'm south of Tampa, FL) and One Pound Poem appealed to me, so I thought that I'd try to figure out how to reach out to a first friend on Medifast..
I started 2 weeks ago and lost 10 pounds. It was like waiting for Christmas morning to weigh myself, and a great big present yesterday at 6 a.m. I'm - oh - all you computer whizzes can find my page without poking around for 10 minutes - and read about me a little..
Anyway, all of a sudden, I'm having 2 hungry and blue days. Maybe it's the penicillin I've been on for a week before tomorrow's root canal. Ugh. I pretty much sailed through (HA!) the first 2 weeks, nice and full, with even moods, and decent energy, and now I'm having motivation problems. With everything. And all I can think of is food..
Well, this isn't uplifting for anybody else, I guess I'm looking for a psychological boost. Help, anyone?..
Kudos for having lost 10 lbs in your first two weeks OP and WOW...that's showing some kinda restraint to wait until Christmas morning to weigh! I can hardly make it from Monday to Monday! LOL!.
I'm not a Health Coach so I'm not sure but I am assuming that medications can have an impact on how you feel, especially with antibiotics. The other thing to consider is that your mood may be reflecting either 1) your losing weight or 2) perhaps it's a bit of anxiousness before your root canal?.
I think sometimes people carry extra weight for a variety of reasons and when they lose that weight they might be anxious or "blue" for a while until they realize that they no longer need food for support, comfort, out of boredom, etc. Sometimes journaling can help sort out all the internal feelings surrounding weight and weight loss. As for your root canal, I hope you sail right through with no problems!.
Please pop back and let us know how you're doing after your dental work! The GOOD part is that most of your diet is liquid so there shouldn't be too many chewing pain!.
You have lost 10 lbs in two weeks and are doing so well! Go to the grocery store (or if you have them in your pantry) and pick up a 10 lb. bag of potatoes. It is a lot of weight. If you can't do that, find some things that equal 10 lbs and put them in a bag and pick them up. You have lost that much weight! Go over all of the reasons that you started this, see how far you have come, have your root canal (you will do fine) and get right back to it!.

This is my 2nd week on the program and during my 1st week I lost 4.5 pounds and today, 4 days after that weigh-in (I couldn't wait until the next weigh-in) I noticed that I haven't lost a single pound. Now, I very depressed. I did cheat a bit in the last couple of days, but not very much. I thought that I could expect 3-4 pounds a week but now, I'm rethinking that. This week's weigh has got me so down that I'm almost thinking of giving up...can someone talk me into sticking to it...OR, has anyone else had this experience? Can I expect the weight loss to start again if I do something differently?..
I am new, too, but the one thing I know about weighing is, you can look like you have not lost one single pound and then weigh on your regular weigh day and weigh less. I don't know why, but I do know that is true from Medifast and other food plans. Don't give up, just make sure you eat everything you should and drink lots of water and weigh on your regular weigh day..
Here are two more suggestions. As one of the health coaches to help you. I know there are several and you might want to put a new post in right now that says "I need a Health Coach, who can help?" The other thing is there is a guy who is on the threads who has lost a lot and done very well. You might want to talk with him. I am sorry that I don't know his name, but if you got on the Guys thread, I bet you could find him or someone like him. I can see his face, but not his name.
I know there are different issues with women and men just like there are with younger and older. Now, you really could have a problem and be like me....an old woman!.
Good luck and don't give up! Remember why you started...
