I just use a "gorilla pod" (walmart $15) for everything.

Never used one but I doubt it. I use a monopod a lot. Correct technique improves stability. Simply placing your cam on top of a monopod standing as an upright pole only uses 50% of the stability that can be generated. Try these links:.

Good for you. I use a razor for shaving but I doubt it would be much good for slicing bread. The man says " ... for sports and for really quick mobility shooting". A 15$ Gorillapod will not do that:.

1. It is not even substantial enough to mount a head on.

2. How are you going to use it standing (or sitting ) in a crowd at a sports arena?3. What do you attach it to?4. How are you going to pan round with it to arrest movement?.

I have one and I find very little use for it. It is Ok for self portraits sometimes. To my mind it is an innovative design looking for a problem to solve but has failed to find one that is mass market..

P.S. I would not trust a heavy DSLR on it for long - even the largest model..

It's like a fisheye lens, if you need one they are perfect but most of the time they are just dead weight!.

If you think that makes sense, then you must have read someone else's post!..

I agree!!.

Thanks so much for sharing your experience....

I will be shooting The East West Bank Classic (pro tennis) in Carson, LA....

I just saw a shoulder brace and really wondering if it is going to be helpful at all... (i haven't tried it yet at all)....

And you made great points!.

Again, thanks a lot!!.

I attach it to anything, it pivots on the screw, it holds substantial weight ... but if you don't want to know it's useful ...don't blame me!.
