I found a good amount of opportunities for missing-character-typosquatting on a couple domains which seem to be worth redirecting via an affiliate link vs just parking or putting some kind of cpc ads on there. Mostly privat-ish offers so I'm not surprised it got through the wickets of the big domainers..

But before I drop all that cash into something like this with a longer payoff but probably more sure vs. reinvesting in flash-in-the-pan cpa offers that FB may squash next week, I wanted your feedback on what kind of relative # of searches I could expect vs searches shown in the google keyword tool? (& yeah, I know the two aren't related).

(e.g. Domain whose branded name gets 10,000 searches monthly shown in the google keyword tool. Historically, would a skip letter domain typically get 1%? 0.1% 0.01%).

Guess the estimate would depend on likelihood of the typo so if anyone has a rough estimate on any of the following & would care to share, that would be cool..

Skip letter (this would be the most common, right?).

Double letters.

Reverse letters.

Skip spaces.

Missed key.

Inserted key.

Thanks - understand there are a lot of other variables in there. I have a great idea of the epc based on my site-targeted ads on other domains. However, the traffic level is a mystery. I've seen some really bizarre typo parked domains get a lot of traffic from being on the advertiser's side but I have no idea how they're getting people there. Just want to put together a reasonable estimate to make a smart decision...

You are probably going to kick yourself in the ass for this one: TYPE IN THE TYPO/MISSPELLED KEYWORD INTO THE "KEYWORD TOOL!!".

Your welcome...

You're welcome? That only works if they're typing it into a google search.

I'm looking for people who know the rough estimates on people that actually know how to use their browser and type it in..

If I google my sites' names, that isn't anywhere close to what analytics reports as direct traffic...

Yotuube.com gets ~2.5k per day and that is two mispellings, but YouTube is undoubtedly one of the most typed-in sites on the web....

It's honestly going to be pretty hard to judge since it is not only the type of typo (lol) it's what letters are involved and what part of the word it is etc...

Sorry, I guess I misunderstood the question. I would agree that it completely depends on the letter of the typo (close letters, missing letters, etc)..

Either way, I would think they would be really low numbers even for sites that are typed in 10K a day. I would have to agree with you first assumption of roughly 0.1-1.0%...

For got to add, if it project something over 10 searches/day there's usually something there.....

Let me be honest, I just sold domains for 1200 that I thought would never sell. I didnt worry about whether they would pay off when I first saw the opportunity, I just registered them.

Dont fuck with domainers, everyone has the same tools that youhave now... if you want to be successful with domaining register first, apologize later.

Thats the only way you will survive.

Trust me on that one...
