Without knowing what you want to shoot or what your requirements are in a camera then it's difficult to give any advice...
College kid on the go would be the most specific I guess, I really don't know what i'll be shooting, sorry..
As for requirements, I would like a small, well built camera with good screen and a 6-8 megapixel rating...
The sd750 is a great camera. I bought it last May for my daughter. However, if you could spend more money I'd recommend that you get a camera with optical image stabilization and there are many cameras with this feature. My first choice recommendation for you would be the Canon sd870- wide angle, 3" lcd like the sd750 and IS. You might also like the Panasonic TZ3 - IS, wide angle, 10x zoom, IS. The Fuji F40 or 50 would also be good choices and probably within your budget..
Edit: Not the Fuji F50, that might be too expensive..
You can save some money buying online. I buy quiute a few things from buydig.comWhats your budget?..
The Nikon S210 is smaller but the Canon SD750 has a slightly larger aperture and will probably give better IQ. Although I know very little about these models, so your best bet is to look at sample images and test them out for handling in sb tore before buying..
You might want to check the Fuji F480 which is ultra-comapact with f/2.8 aperture limke the Canon plus wide angle lens 28-114mm. The Panasonic FX-33 offers wide angle and IS and is quite cheap...
I don't know much about any of the model's you're interested in. Unless one has a required feature the other doesn't, or one has a glaring weakness, it probably doesn't matter which you get..
What will make a difference in your photo's is to get a camera soon and practice with it as much as possible. Ask for constructive feedback...
Both the Canon sd870 and Panasonic TZ3 would be in your budget and I think you really like both of those..
Here is some info on those twp cameras.http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canonsd870is/page12.asphttp://www.dpreview.com/reviews/panasonictz3/page14.asphttp://forums.dpreview.com/...forums/read.asp?forum=1010&message=26984343..
Is the SD870IS compatible with SDHC or only SD memory cards?..
Is the SD870IS compatible with SDHC or only SD memory cards?.
Per the dpreview spec page, the 870 is compatible with sdhc..
A) Nikon Coolpix S550 (5x zoom with optical VR - $199 on amazon) or S510 (3x zoom, optical VR) will be better than S210 which has only electronic VR..
B) You may like to consider Nikon P60 too, which is a bit larger but has eVF (helpful in shooting with stable posture), manual mode, 5x zoom with VR - $187 on amazon..
C) However if you want to shoot action (i.e. moving subjects), then avoid these Nikons and consider a camera with optical viewfinder. e.g. Canon SD1100 ($220), A570IS (a bit larger though), etc..
My budget is around $250.00 at the max..

My budget is about $75 less than yours. I already tried a Sony S750. Sweet camera, but I couldn't get it's USB to work with my Win2000 computer, so returned it. The Nikon S210 is on my shorlist too. Another in the same $ range as the S210 with lots of features is the Casio Z80. Dig around on the sites for the online sellers and you can also find closeout deals on older models like the Nikon S200, Olympus FE-250, and Panasonic FX10 / FX12.
Buy from a store that makes returns easy!Kelly Cook..
