Photo sharing
I have a web site and a pbase site but simple photo sharing has passed me by..

Can anyone recommend a method of sharing photos?.

I need a simple process that a group of friends can access to upload (at print quality) and download snapshots of the kids and parties etc. It needs albums that can then be deleted every once in a while, it needs sev 100 meg of space and passwords..

A good option would be if there is an admin who can mail members to let them know albums are to be deleted soon..

Preferably free but cheap is fine if it's good..

Thanks...

Google offers free picasa and picasaweb photosharing services. I think the free space is 250 megs. You can pay for more. You restrict access...

I have it at smugmug. Most of family albums are invisible for general public and password protected. I share these albums with friends or family only, who can download originals of images while being in Estonia, Israel, other parts of world.I send them direct link to gallery + password..

Rest of galleries are for public. Take a look at link below..

Are you sure 100meg will be enough? That is about 35 of my jpegs!.

Don't know anybody that does this.

Take a look at Zenfolio. $25 gets you 1 GB for each year you subscribe (or $40 for unlimited). 12Gb max file size. Password protection is a switcheable option as is the ability to download original files. There is a bulk downloader available. You can email links to new galleries etc etc..

With 1GB p.a. there may be no need to delete old galleries..

Best thing about Zenfolio is the classy interface. Take a look..

P.S. I can see no problem with a group contributing photos. You all just need the URL and password. (And each person can have his/her own Group of Galleries).

These all appear to be American, are there any UK sites so that print delivery would be cheaper and faster in the UK?.

Thanks...

There is nothing with the quality of Zenfolio. I know of one person posting on this site who resides in the UK and ordered and received prints with no problems..

Zenfolio are actively looking for a printing partner in Europe. If you have any suggestions tell them..

All I did was bought some hosting from http://www.newportpagnellhosting.com used their interface to load coppermine galleries (a couple of clicks on menu options installs it automatically.) and then configured the galleries. I have made mine public but you can easily make them visible to members only. Being your own webspace you control who can access it and how it looks. They have hosting space in the US and the UK. If you need more info just email me at See my Home town @ http://www.newport-pagnell.co.uk..
