Kodak P880, This one seems good and I can get it now..
I know that the Kodak P880 is VERY well thought of in image quality terms, by professionals and amateurs alike..
If you are able to, please enjoy this slideshow of images that I am assured were pretty much straight out of the camera.......

Please note: These pictures are NOT mine... but I do admire them greatly, and I think both the camera AND photographer have done splendidly. .
Further Note: The ponies (on Dartmoor, Southwest England) are wild!!.
Here is the photographer's blog, which is also nicely done....

Ha ha!! .
With "G'day" and "mate" in your vocabulary, you sound like an Aussie, not a Yank!.
Either way, from this Brit, let me wish "G'day, mate" to you and your missus, and may you both enjoy the photography, whichever camera you settle on. Okay? Regards,Baz..
Yep, I'm an aussie, well an ex-pat actually, been here most my life though..
Thanks alot...

Aha! Now I get it..
Thing is, your profile says you are in United States....

... but it says that by default, so if you neglect to CHANGE it at registration, we can end up being a little misled....
Never mind. .
Thanks alot..
You're welcome. Have a nice day.... as they say in the States. Regards,Baz..
Another vote for the P880. I have used one at work a bunch, and have a buddy with one... they are both great cameras... Only issue is that it is slow to focus and has some lag... But the pictures are great....
Current digital camera: my cell phoneAnd now a SP-570!..
