Hi!!! I just bought my first digital, a Nikon Coolpix 7600 and now I am confused about the batteries. It came with two rechargeable niMH "coolpix" brand batteries. Looking at the literature (about the bulk of don quixote!) I cannot find out if I can use any brand niMH rechargeable batterles. I'd like an extra set lying around. Can someone in the know tell me about whether I have to use coolpix brand niMH or any brand will do? thanks!!!!!!!!!!..

It can use any brand of AA NiMh batteries, though some brands are better than others. Maha Powerex is excellent. Engergizer has some high powered batteries too (make sure you buy from a store with recent stock). - Itai.

You can use any AA NiMh batteries of Standard reputed make like Sanyo,Maha Powerex etc. Maha Powerex is excellent. Better to use 2300/2500 mah capacity with same company's Battery charger with "refresh" facility.

Both Batteries & chargers should be from a store with recent stock. Follow instructions for initial chaging using refresh function...

I just purchased the 7600 after happily owning and using the Nikon 4100 for almost a year and noticed that the battery (CR-V3) from the 4100 is not listed as an option for the 7600 although both use AA batteries. Can I use the CR-V3 in the 7600??..

Hi. i've had one of these for about 9 months and all of a sudden it doesn't seem to recognize new batteries. I change them to brand new aa batteries and they take one picture and then "warning! battery exhausted." I change to a fresh pair and the same warning. any suggestions what might be wrong? this just started happening yesterday...

I am having the same error message. I installed new AA batteries and made sure the correct battery type was chosen in the menu. I am receiving the error message 'Warning Battery Exhausted' and my camera shuts off...

I purchased a Nikon 7600 after happily owning a Nikon 2100 for 3 years. The 2100 is an excellent camera, but I wanted more megapixels.

Although I purchased it based on previous experience and after reading many reviews. I noticed the recycle time on the flash was painfully slow and embarrassing as people are ready to have their photo taken. So I purchased a new set of rechargeable batteries. I called Nikon and they said that the recycle time is 8 seconds! and they were sorry. They only deal with stores and I am past the exchange.

Time with Best Buy. Am I being unreasonable to expect a faster recycle time? Are other cameras in this category as slow ? Can anyone recommend a like camera that is faster between shots? Thanks!..
