Is anyone else having trouble with blur images? It seems that 50 percent or more pictures are useless. It's not operator error - using a Kodak DC3400 side-by-side, same picture, same day and time does not produce bad images like the 3200. Opinions?..

Is your BSS-mode on? This affects the use of flashlight and thus the shutter speed. Only use BSS (best shot selector) when you're taking pictures while moving...

Hi there! Just got the Nikon Coolpix last week. Taken some 50 shots already and it's not too bad. Q#1:.

Wondering if there's a way to turn off the digital zoom. Friend has the 4300 and he says there's an option. Been looking around the menus on the 3200 and can't find it - it doesn't have the option, does it? Q#2:.

Can I use the slideshow feature onto the TV? I mean show the slideshow of the photos taken not on the LCD but onto a TV using the supplied cable. I tried and got a blank screen. Have set the camera to PAL output matching my TV. By the way, I'm in Asia, Malaysia. Jason..

I just got my camera. Indoors and in short distances pictures are generally sharp and with good colours. Outdoors they don't get as sharp as I want them if the distance is more than just a few meters (and purple flowers get very blue, but perhaps that could be corrected although I haven't managed so far). Is there something wrong with the camera, are all like this or are my demands too high?..

I am strongly considering the 3200; however, I have seen conflicting information regarding the movie mode. The review on this site indicates no sound, but the general info for this camera indicates that it does record sound.

Has anyone used the movie mode yet and can you confirm if it records sound or not? Thanks!..

Re sound: The 2200 has NO sound...the 3200 has sound! that's one of three main diffs in two models...megapix is second...AutoFocus assist lamp is third...(I have a 2200 and manual covers both)..

Yes there is sound for the movie mode on the 3200, you can even record sound clips to the pictures you take. There is also an internal speaker for playback. Both the mic and the speaker are located on the TOP of the camera. See the photo in the review of the camera...

I have the coolpix 3200. I'm unable to view on my camera the jpeg immages that I load from my computer to a compatable flash card using a USB reader writer. These are images that I transfered from the flash card in my camera to my computer, deleted from my the flash card (while in the camera) and were copied back onto the flash card using a USB writer...

I purchased my 3200 almost a month ago for technical auditing work. I have taken nearly 1000 images and overall I am very pleased with it (price/performance). The review on is a fair and balanced view based on my experience. Main criticisms are (i) auto-focus is poor in low-light close-up (not macro), (ii) blurs occasionally, even w/o BSS, (iii) Movie mode doesn't have a Pause function, (iv) pincushion effect is very noticeable (>1%) when photographing A4/Letter size drg's, (v) USB driver is incompatible with Win2000 (despite mediocre Nikon online support), (vi) the thumbwheel can inadvertantly appear in wrong position for Auto/Movie mode when retrieved from pocket), (vii) the lens doesn't retract when uploading pix to computer, (viii) shutter lag makes Sports mode pix almost unattainable. Apart from that it's a great camera!..

I am considering the 3200 and this is the first time looking at digital cameras. Does anyone know what are some cameras that have some of the same options like this one? I don't know much about any brands...

Well the other camera model of same specifications but with better pic quality is coolpx 3700.the only things which 3700 dont have compared to 3200 are AA batteries option, built in memory(3700 have 16 MB SD card with it) and a little less flash distance, other than that it have every thing better than 3200 including 30FPS movie mode and best compact stylish metal design....

You mentioned that "USB driver is incompatible with Win2000" I just ordered the 3200 2 days ago and I run Win2000 on my PC. Is there a work-around to the problem you mentioned? I've plugged my son's Canon Powershot A60 into my USB port and Win2000 sees it right away - and I never loaded any Powershot software. My PC just shows it as removable storage or disk. So do I even need to load the Nikon USB driver? Is it only needed for running the Nikon camera software? Many thanks!..

I was considering this camera for many types of pictures, including sports pix. One review mentioned that sports shots cannot be taken with this camera. I was wondering if anyone else had tried sports shots or if anyone had any other experience with this. Also, is there a limit to the length of movie that can be shot? Thanks!..

I'm considering buying this camera, but have heard rumors of the images being noisy in low light(indoor) situations-is this basically something that happens with most cameras, or can I fiddle with settings to prevent noisy pictures with the coolpix? and is this rumor about noisy images true or no?..

I have 3 options to buy a digital cam, if you are having experience with these cameras please suggest me a one out from these three cameras. Fuji FinePix S3000 Digital Camera, Nikon Coolpix 3200 Digital Camera, Sony P8..
