Just received my CP 3100 from Ritz Camera! So far, I am very happy with the camera. It is very small but easy to handle. Haven't tried all the picture modes but the pictures I've taken so far look great. Better than the Olympus I was borrowing. Still deciding whether to use the Nikon View software or stick with iPhoto to organize my photos Here's what came in the box:.
Lithium battery (not rechargable).
16mb 8x Lexar Compact Flash card.
Nikon View CD.
Getting Started CD.
Manual and warranty info..
I just saw this camera at best buy and it appears to be a very pocketable, well made camera. Could anyone post some sample pictures. What quality are the indoor shots and how bad is the noise in low light pictures?..
Just purchased the 3100. It seems to have blurry pictures in low light conditions if you do not have the flash on. Battery life is really poor...
All cameras will be blurry in low light without flash. Use a tripod or steady surface.Make sure you use only the CR-V3 disposable or rechargable NiMH batteries. I have had great luck with both...
This is Nikon's smallest and the fastest coolpix camera ever! I owned two Nikon's and this is the greatest so far.
Look at this picture of it in the hand. http://www.a-digital-eye.com/$2003pma/Pict0152.jpg..
HERE ARE SAMPLE PICS Nikon Coolpix 3100 sample photos..
I plan to buy one. I like this camera but one thing is it's digital zoom. It's kind of annoying me when I use the digital zoom. It's not smooth!! Can I do anything with that??..
"I plan to buy one. I like this camera but one thing is it's digital zoom. It's kind of annoying me when I use the digital zoom. It's not smooth!! Can I do anything with that??" Yeah, I think so. Is that an advantage or disadvantage of the camera?..
I just bought this Camera 1 day prior to the F1 race in Malaysia !! HeHe got it just in time to take some sHots !! This camera is so Sturdy and the pictures taken are very Good with Crisp clear colours. It is also so eZ to operate out of the Box (Just CHarge the batteries first).I would definitely recommend this camera to entry level to intermediate photographers. No Complain whatsoever. The battery consumption is alright ..... you cannot expect it to last as long as normal film cameras expecially when you keep turning on the LCD ...
I read your post regarding the Nikon 3100 model. It looks really small! thankx for the post-up I'm really tempted to buy this digital camera. But there's been some review on it's battery life. What's your say on it compared to the other two Nikon cameras you said you have. I'm just an amateur who's really interested in photography, just a hobby. Wanted to purchase an SLR, but friends said everyone's going digital, why am I going backwards to analog...
Hi all, Had a play with the Nikon 3100 and it looks great. Quite a nice little package with good features. The only disadvantage I can see with this camera is.
1) Movie with NO sound.
2) Shell of the camera is plastic and feels very fragile. One drop and... What do you all think?..
2) Shell of the camera is plastic and feels very fragile. One drop and... the camera is very light I dont think a drop would hurt it..
Well..I think you guys'd better not drop it whether it's shell's made from metal or not!!..
I'm hesitating if to buy the Sony P72 or Nikon 3100 - both cost almost the same. the Sony one is bigger in size but by reading it's reviews I understand that it have a better picture quality and better performance then the Nikon 3100. but on the other hand I really liked the design and size of the Nikon 3100. What do you all think ?
I think the image quality and performance are almost the same.. I mean how you could know which one is better unless you run the test on them which you won't..so I think there is almost no different for both of them. But I do admit that the focusing system of sony is better..whereas Coolpix3100's LCD for viewing or reviewing is better. so if I were you, I would go for coolpix becuase I'm kind of like it's design too. anyway..maybe I'm wrong but this is what I think. Tell me which one you pick...
After spending an hour at CC - I decided to go with Sony P72 - I think it have more to offer and it cost less + much better batteries and charger too. it is a little bit bigger - but still will fit my pocket. I hope I made the right decision...
