Gotta love this :.
"A cyber squatter Warren Weitzman has filed a law suit bearing Case No. 1:09-cv-01141 in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia Court to acquire your domain claiming it to be his. ".
It's a scam but have you also scanned the PDF for anything malicious, I would be careful with stuff like that....
Cheers.
Liquid..
I just got another e-mail. It's looking pretty legit. I got my domain after it was dropped and registered after said filing. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens...
I hear you enlytend and after reading the second email where he says:".
It is my hope that you will give Ms.Pandes emails the attention they deserve, place them in your trash folder and mark his email address as spam. Should you wish to discuss this matter, please feel free to contact me." lol...
It looks legit to me too but...how is he knowing that Pande(indian dude) was emailing the OP....i mean sure he knows about the content of pande's spam but his emaillist?.
Please "enlyten" me :-) (p.s, almost done with relaunch, just a matter of days) :-).
Cheers.
Liquid..
Sorry - I'm as mystified as you on this one! Just sayin' the second letter appears to be from a law firm that I recognize as a reputable one. Unless the message headers are forged...
Maybe they know that he sent the mail to some owners of a certain group of domains and proactively contacted the registrants of all of them?.
Weird. I'd probably give him a call just to find out what this was all about...
There is a cc: to the e-mail "". Originally, I figured that was part of the scam, but I think that's the Plantiff of the suit.
I believe you're right, they (Pande and company) contacted everyone that currently holds any of the domains in question.
I'll give the lawyer a call and get more info...
