Read this: US authorities seize websites over pirated movies | Reuters.

My site is looking like videopard.com.

I only take embed codes from sites like megavideo. But am I still in danger?.

I also live in Sweden. So it's not the same law as in USA. But is it possible to get down for this in USA? Should I focus on something else then showing the videos on the site?.

Give me some tips..

I am not a lawyer or any kind of expert but I saw "Twilight" on your site, I didn't check out whether videos were playing but I can tell you that the publishers of said books and movies are extremely aggressive when protecting their copyrights and trademarks...like a small dog with rabies that will never let go and now they have the influence of the big dogs (major movie houses) behind them, they can afford to bar their teeth constantly with impunity.

What I guess I am saying is it is probably far better to let it drop since while it may not today, or tomorrow, but soon, and for the rest of your life...you will be looking over your shoulder wondering when that C&D will come...

Yeah I know. was thinking about closing it. But the thing is. Why should I get the shit when I only a stream from another site.

Like if I take something from Youtube that is "illegal". They should get the lawsuit and not me. They are the one sharing it and making it possible for me to take it.

Surfthechannel.com is one of the bigger site when it comes to video linking. They dont have any problem with the cops. Why do they dont have any problems? What do they have that I dont...

But they only post links to megavideo. I take embed code from megavideo..

At least one of the sites that was shut down had the same setup that you did.

ZML.com was also shut down, and it was registered in China at a Chinese registrar. Think about that for a second...

What do you guys think if I change my strategy.

I will remove all the videos from my site. I will only show Trailer embeded from Youtube. Then I will do it like surfthechannel. I give out links to the videos. May that work?..

Hmmm, how can the US gov. take over that?.....hmmmm........

Cheers.

The thing you have to do is determine if the source you will link to is acting legally...

Because Verisign is based in the US and they're the .com registry...

I don't see much of a distinction between linking to illegal content and hosting illegal content... if you want to keep the site, you're probably better off using a non-us extension and moving to Sealand...

They want to take down thepiratebay.com. If they own the .com registry. why dont they just kill the site then...

I believe that piratebay founders have recently disbanded ? .

I seem to remember that the service provider was threatened with legal action if they continued to host the site ? Post added at 02:03 AM Previous post was at 01:43 AM Sweden is signed up to the Madrid Protocol...

Thepiratebay is not disbanded. They got closed for like 2 weeks. But they reopened it..

Yes, sorry I did not read the article properly. BBC News - Pirate Bay founding group disbands..
