Mounting ball head to monopod question

I purchased a Slik monopod that has a mounting screw with a 1/4 inch diameter bolt. I also purchased a Manfrotto ball head, model 486 RC2. That has a mount that requires a 3/8 inch bolt..

Can you help me find a bushing that has a 1/4 inch (female ) end and a 3/8 inch (male ) end ? .

In other words, how can I attach the ball head to the monopod , when one ( the monopd) has a 1/4 inch blot and the other( the ball head ) calls for a 3/8 inch bolt.Is such a thing available for sale, and, if so, where ?I hope that I have made this clear. It sounds confusing even to me to me.Thanks for your help..

RRS makes the same thing called 'BUSHING' for $5..

There may have been one with the head, otherwise they are or should be readily available at a competent photo supplier. B&H has them, lots of different sources and one wonders given the broad price differences if any of them are really any different..

A local hardware store might well have them but might not recognize them as tripod bushings. 3/8"x16 to 1/4"x20 I think "UNC but not sure...

UNC for sure: stands for UNified Coarse.

If you see only "3/8" and not "3/8-16" that's cool. The thread count is sometimes unspecified for coarse thread because those are standard...

I do remember that one came with a 488 RC2 ball head that I purchased, but I didn't need it at the time, and now I can't find it. Howard gave me a good lead. I'll first check with my local camera store tomorrow. If necessary, I'll order one.Thanks.Hanagan..
