I have tried both the banana pudding and the chocolate and cannot get them to thicken! What am I missing?? Any suggestions?..

Use very cold water and use slightly less water than what the packet says. Then whisk or stir vigorously. Good luck...

I add just the 1/2 cup they call for! It tastes ok, but is so thin, it doesn't satisfy that 'I am eating dessert on a diet!' feeling I need! ;-)..

Try letting it sit in the refrigerator for an hour or even all day- it gets very thick. I was on a pudding kick about a year ago and I already owned 5 shaker cups. I would shake them all in the morning and they would be varying degrees of thickness. Yup 5 puddings a day for about 3 weeks...

I use 3 oz of water. Refrigerate for an hour. Eat with herbal tea...

Back a few months ago several of us got batches of chocolate pudding that would not set up. I eat it every day, and suddenly it was thin and never got thick. Several other people on the board had that issue at the same time, so it could be a QC issue..

Try mixing it with slightly less, ice cold water. If it won't set it is probably QC. They do make good shakes, though...

I add baking powder to thicken the pancakes and let it sit overnight, maybe this would work?............I actually lost my taste for the choc. pudding and found myself with many packets left. Now I use them as a shake and love them that way! Ice, diet creme soda and a flavoring or SF products in my blender, and it tastes like a Wendy's frosty!..

Add a bunch of ice cubes, toss it in a blender, and have a shake instead.

Once in a while my pudding won't thicken. It's very weird...

Barbara: Are you letting it sit for 30 minutes? I do. I also will stick it in the freezer for 30 minutes and it turns into something similar to ice milk. It's really good...

I would think it has to be a problem with your particular pudding packets. I have no problem at all with my pudding thickening right away with 1/2 cup cold water...

I also have found that it sometimes depend on what kind of container I'm using to mix the pudding in. Example: like mixing in a small plastic bowl vs a paper bowl or cup vs a stoneware container/bowl. It also can depend on how cold/not cold the water is too. Try a couple of different containers and see what works best. I'm kind of a Medifast pudding "junkie" - although it was getting a bit old there for a while and decided I needed to vary to some other things a little more. Good luck you'll find what works the best...

I have mixed results getting the chocolate pudding to thicken, and it can be a mix of successes out of the same box! I always mix the same way and sometimes I get lovely thick pudding and other times I get "pudding flavored mud". I always whisk well and put the pudding in the fridge for at least 6 hours (and sometimes as much as 24 hours)..

I've not yet run across the same problem with the Banana - which so far have mixed up nice and thick every time..

I've been on a pudding kick lately.. eating 2 or 3 meals a day for the last couple of weeks...
