Looking for the best Point and Shoot for 150 - 200 Budget
Hey guys I have two women I want to buy simple point and shoot cameras for for Christmas..

My wife was looking at the Fuji Z10fd on Dell.com and while it received good reviews there they were less than satisfactory here..

Can anyone point me in the right direction for a point and shoot camera my wife and her friend can take with them and take decent photographs of things like the kids at the park?.

We have a Nikon D70s for quality pictures, she just wants something she can throw in her purse for everyday photos..

Thanks..

I'm assuming your are talking US dollars here, rather than euros, pounds....

One option is the Fuji F20 (or 30,31fd, etc). It is in your price range or below and has the advantages of being fast on, fast to take a picture, having a powerful flash, and most important of all, being by far the best for available light interior shots..

It has a modest but useful 3X zoom range..

There are many many P&S cameras that are slimmer, sexier, have greater zoom ranges, etc. But this is the one that'll be most productive for taking non-flash photos in the house, school, or similar interior as well as high quality action shots outside..

To adequately cover Little League type sports she'll likely need a longer lens zoom camera. I use my F20 much more often than my bigger, longer lens cameras...

Canon a570, approx $155 from buydig. The camera received a highly recommended rating from dpreview. I have a Nikon D50 and this camera which I am really happy with. This guy has a nice blog on what this camera can do..

From what I've read, the earlier version of the camera, the Z5fd, was better all around. It uses Fuji's super ccd processor, which is very good for low light pictures. It's still available for about $155..

Good choice, especially the IS version. I like canon p&s cameras. The SD1000 is a good deal smallermore purse friendly...

Then why don't you recommend a waterproof camera too, it allows people to take pictures underwater. Or a toyota, it allows people to get to places, amazing.Oh no, wait, that's not what the OP asked for..

It's not a SIMPLE point and shoot, it's not in the budget (and it's not even made anymore), they were looking at an ultracompact, this thing is more than twice as big and 50% heavier..

And the qualities you used to argue your recommandations are 1. stupid : 8mp 2. irrelevant: a useless hotshoe and RAW..

Care to answer constructively or are you going to continue to use insults and not read the OP ? .

All these post by you and not any answers to the OPs question??? The op did not specify ultra compact (whos stupid?) So Barney, what do you suggest? Or are you just posting to be a little d*ck head. The sp-350 can be thrown is a purse as the op asks. Also there are several on e-bay...http://cgi.ebay.com/...QQcategoryZ146258QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem.

Come on dumb a$$ what's your answer? Read the ops question more carefully this time!.
