Looking for a point/shoot camera? newbie *help*

Im generally up to date with my TECH, but when It comes to Digital Cameras I have no idea..

Ive always owned Pentax s5, s6... I lost my camera and need to buy a new one..

I admit the new Sony w300 look's awesome, but the reviews arent crash hot!.

Im a bloke, I need something small, and I dont expect awesome photos.. but the best I can get, any advice would be awesome. Money isnt really an issue!.

Sorry for the typical newbie question!.

As I said.. I try do research but I dont understand all the tech stuff..

Sure I like nice looking cameras, but I try my best to find one which is decent also, hence I try ask on forums, because Im hoping there is some people with great knowledge who can point me in the right direction..

End of the day S&P cameras r prob all the same, I guess then Id rather spend $150US, than $400US...

If I had $400 to spend then I would be looking at SLR-like cameras, not compacts. To get advanced features I could see going as high as $300 for a compact. But if decent quality (not bellz and whistles) is the only concern, there are plenty to choose from between $200 and $250. Each of us has a different comfort zone when it comes down to pricing..

You said money wasn't an issue which usually means looking for high end stuff...

But is it worth the extra 200-300US?.

It looks rather biggish compared to a Cyber-shot or the other slim cameras?..

Well thats it..

Im not a professional..

I dont even know If Its worth spending 400US on a new Cyber-shot. Considering theres loads of 10mp for around 200US..

$$$ isnt an issue, but why waste money If theres no need! Ahh why cant there just be a clear winner?..

It may very well be worth the money but you will have to research this yourself. If you don't understand features beyond price and size then it would not be worth it..

If I were ever to own a lens with the Summicron name on it, this would most likely be the only way...
