I wouldnt give the name up that easily imo .. I would suggest locking the name though as it is very common for bigwigs to hijack names in dispute..
Thanks for your support u8l2.
Based on this this post, I'm better off giving up the domain.
Is it true this name is cleary violation of TM? What happen if I sell this name and transfer to other party?..
I see you are newish so I will give you a pass (though at times I am not so lenient), but to sum it up.. it is called cybersquatting which is illegal. Why does this question even matter?? I am interested in hearing your reasonings.
It depends on useage, but I have a feeling you are squatting...
Unless you can prove that you have a right to use the name (ie your name is Beyonce) and that you aren't using the name in bad faith (cash parking it doesn't help your case) you might as well just give up now before things start getting expensive. The best you can hope for is for them to pay to have the domain transferred. In the future, avoid domains with celebrity names and trademarks...
Philip and Chris,.
Thanks for your advice. Surely it's not happy news for me but good lesson...
Why not ask for an autographed picture in return?.
Just kidding, guys. I find her hot, that's all...
I'll give you an example. I regged imogenheap.mobi a few weeks ago. after contacting imogen she said it was fine to use her name and it was better that it was "in the family" as opposed to sicking her lawyers on the poor soul that regged her name without permission.dont forget these people that own the rights to there names have millions to spend and it is chicken feed to pay 1500 usd for a cease and desist order..
Nope, they are just using bully boys tactics.
I would get proof that this "lawyer" does indeed represent Beyonce and isn't just a guy trying to scam you. I was involved in dispute and instead of handing it over I just disabled the domain name and stated that I wouldn't use it, wouldn't sell to anyone else and wouldn't renew it...
Yet again, too much bullshit to wade through with any success, but suffice it to say that I seriously, seriously doubt that this name means enough to you to put up a fight for.
If the name was "beyonce".com , then sure, that's a big ticket domain and might be worth the effort and potential loss (And yes, even though it's only a first name, you could still lose.).
But I'd bet 2 things: 1) the "LLLL" isn't just some random "jqkf" combination and still 2) You aren't making enough at parking to pay for the time and energy this domain could theoretically cost you, as well as a UDRP or worse on your "cyber-record" (tm).
