I just ordered medifast for the first time after reading a lot of reviews and hearing about it from a few people I know. I am excited to get started, it should be here tomorrow or friday. Any advice for a 1st timer out there? What should I purge from my kitchen to resist temptation....

Any input would be welcomed!.

I live alone, so I purged everything that was not on the plan. If I feel the need to cheat, I know I can't because there is nothing in the house to cheat with!.

Yes you're probably gonna feel crappy for a couple days buy it does go away, just tough it out and you'll feel better then ever! Also log everything you eat! Do NOT skip any of your meals EVER!.

What did you order to get yourself started?..

Good luck! I would suggest trying the meals, if you don't like something the first week, wait and give it a try later. You will find your taste buds change and some things that were so icky the first week (vanilla pudding for me) is now one of my favorites.

Congratulations on choosing Medifast for your weight loss journey! This is my second time doing it. The first time I did it about 1.5 weeks and gave up. This time I am in full force! It is trying at times, but it works and works well! This board is amazing and there are great ideas out there to keep you motivated!!!!!..

Read the boards and blogs with an open mind. Listen to the veterans, they are amazing people. Have fun activities planned to distract yourself from the times when you would be overeating. Pamper yourself a bit..

As far as food...I say stay away from oatmeal and soup the first week. Seems like most people complain about it if eaten too early on. Plan for the unexpected and track everything...

Welcome! I too live alone, so I purged everything non-MF. I did stock up on Claussen refrigerator dill pickles. I cut them up in small-ish pieces and portioned out for my snack. It was a god-send to help curb cravings those first few days. Every time I got a craving throughout the day I had a couple of the small pieces. If you crave the sweet, there's nothing like STRONG dill pickle to get rid of it! LOL I just increased my water intake to compensate for the salty pickle..

Tomorrow starts week 3 for me, and I am loving MF!.

Get rid of everything that you know to be a temptation. Buy some bouillon cubes to make with hot water if you get headachey the first few days. Keep the mind set that you will stay on program no matter what and that you will feel much better as soon as the first few days are over. You may not feel bad at all but, if you do, it is best to be prepared and not get discouraged. IT WILL GET BETTER..

Think about making yourself a ticker and setting some mini goals and rewards for yourself. I found that very motivating.

Congrats on placing your first order! You won't regret it. Medifast is the easiest "diet" I have ever been on. Some days can be a bit tough, but I don't struggle with hunger or the desire to cheat nearly as much as I did on other diets. Once you get your first week completed it will become much easier..

Come to the forums daily, it will help keep you motivated!.
