With CS3, you will have more flexibility and a superior digital asset management. Assuming that your budget can withstand it.Crazy about Nikon..

Hi NikonCrazy.

Thanks for your response. I am wondering what you mean with the digital asset management superiority ??? something like the lightroom ???.

To be honest, I have not done anything about archiving my pictures in anyway apart from in folders  Lots of work for me .... .

Thanks.

I am referring to cataloging and retouching your photos (digital asset management)..

CS3 incorporates Bridge which enables to manage your photos. Lightroom and Aperture have similar functions. However, since you are already familiar with PSE, it stands to reason to move up CS3 which features Bridge. And Bridge all file formats.Enjoy!J.RCrazy about Nikon..

I have both CS3 and Photomatrix and have done several HDR photos. In m opinion Photomatrix does a better job. If you are just wanting to do HDR I say get Photomatrix and it costs less..

CS3 to do HDR shots. In fact if that is the ONLY reason you are looking at CS3 then I would say don't buy it..

Photomatrix cost about 100 bucks I think. I use Dynamic Photo HDR because it is cheaper and does a few things better in my opinion..

Here is an example..

Thanks guys for the input .. I am wondering why photomatix seems to give such a supernatural look/colour ? .

I prefer a more natural look ... but of course sometimes surreal colours would work wonder in some shots ....

I actually have photomatix pro 1.3 free from a magazine .. wonder if anybody has used it and am satisfied with it ... not sure what the limitations are on the earlier version ..i think it does not have tone mapping ??? but it seems to do a decent natural look .... Be a torch bearer ...S3 IS..
