I'm not from Ireland, but you might check your homeowners insurance policy and see if camera gear (and other valuables) can be added. Many non-pros in the US do this..
But problem is I rent and do not own the property I live on..Looking into Home Contents only insurance..Not much success though Maria Zwart..
I dont know if there are any Irish ppl here on the boards...
Yes there are!.
But does anyone know where to get a good camera insurance in Ireland?I have not found any yet. All I get is UK.. who dont cover Ireland(only Northern Ireland)..
But some of us are in NrnIrlnd!.
We don't use vowels a lot..
Even if you only rent, you still should look for house contents insurance. You can usually get cover for cameras, laptops etc on it..
If you look for specific camera insurance, there can be problems I believe when you try to claim they might say that you are already covered by contents insurance, and then won't pay = money wasted..
But some of us are in NrnIrlnd! We don't use vowels a lot..
Its a great advantage when playing scrabble!..
Have you tried some of the bigger names, like Axa?.
I'm based up North, so cant reccommend a good company, other than ones that cover all over Ireland..
If you dont have a lot of camera gear you might be better investing in better security than insurance. Prevention is better than cure......
Well I'm from Netherlands originally.. and only here for a few yrs...
I do plan to get more camera gear... Atm I only have 40D body plus kit lens and some accesoires...
Lot of contents insurances only cover items that are over 2000 euro worth in value.. (about 1400).
Since my camera is below that and all the lenses that I will purchase.. (well the ones that I got on my list now ) , I am still looking for a gd insurance....
Will try Axa..If only I was in the UK lol...
