Importing photographs, changes to 'multi'
This is hard to explain... while importing photographs, the photographs change to 16 photographs in one frame, four rows of four columns of the one photograph, rather like you are looking through fly's eyes - like this, where * equals my original photograph, DSC00001, it changes to this:.

****************.

I'm using a Sony Cybershot DSC W35, and Vista..

What is going on?.

Some cameras have a setting where they take multiple pictures with one shutter press over a period of about 1 sec. Each is a size reduced picture and then they are brought together into one regular sized photo. In other words the problem is in the camera not the importing of the picture..

Many cameras have a reset to factory defaults in the menu somewhere.......if so I'd suggest that you use it.A member of the rabble in good standing..

To upload the photographs, I removed my memory card from the camera, and inserted it into my HP Officejet 6310 memory card slot..

Unfortunately I deleted them (both times) from my camera when uploading..

I will try again using a slot on my computer (haven't found it yet), and also the cable..

Aha! Yes, that's what I've done, hehe. I remember fiddling with a button yesterday. Thanks for that - amazing how obvious it is..

Cheers and thanks..

Next question is - why would anyone want 16 low-quality photographs in one cartoon-strip type sequence? What is the purpose of the multi-burst feature? No editing or zoom is permissible? Strange eh?Jacqui Knightwriting from Romantic Russell, Bay of Islands, NZ..

They're each big enough to email or drop into a blog. And because there's 16 to choose from you get to pick the best (or worst...heh!)Frankly, I think it's just a gimmick.A member of the rabble in good standing..

Just pop the card into the HP slot..

Open Windows Explorer (Internet Explorer) The card you just put in will be seen as a new drive. If you had C: D: and E: before, now you'll have an F:.

Find the picture folder and then just drag and drop them to where you want them on your C: drive..

Once you confirm that they are on your hard drive just remove the card from the printer and then erase the pictures in your camera (or refomat the card in the camera)..

Yeah, the USB cable. Works just like the scenerio above as a new drive..

Unplug the camera after useing the safe removal icon in the system tray. (Do not use the safe removal bit when downloading from the printer!).

Confirm that the pictures are on the hard drive. Then erase them from the camera..
