From Dr A's "Habits of Health Book"..

He says to drink "Cold/Ice" water. Here is the direct quote:.

"Switch to ice water and up your TEF. Drinking just ONE 8 oz glass of ice water burns 9.25 MORE calories than drinking a glass of room temperature water.".

Quote from sidebar:.

"Switching your daily dose of water (eight 8 ounce glasses) to ice water can burn an extra 74 calories a day. That may not seem like much, but it adds up a whopping 7.7 pounds of fat per year! Not to mention that too little water can led to sugar cravings, fatigue, irritability, and foggy thinking and that dehydration significantly slows down fat burning. All the more reason to keep up this important health habit!".

These are direct quotes from page 176 Chapter 13..

This is really a great book. WELL WORTH THE MONEY! I highly recommend everyone to get it. It takes you from A-Z, from beginning Medifast or any weightloss program, weightloss, transition, maintenance and beyond.

Does he promote MF? Yeah, sort of. But he is really promoting PCRMS. (Portion controlled replacement meals). Which frankly makes complete sense. We fat people need to "relearn" portion sizing, get "un-addicted" from carbs/sugar etc..

So cheers with a huge glass of ice water! Have a fantastic OP weekend! We can do this together everyone!!!!.

PS I didnt know this and made the switch last night!.

I have sensitive teeth, too. I find that if I drink cold water from the straw in my water bottle, I can control where it goes in my mouth and don't have a problem with my teeth hurting. I got this water bottle at Bed Bath and Beyond. It has a black gripper thing on the outside and a flip-up straw mouthpiece. I really like it the best of all the water bottles I've tried and I'm going to go back and get a couple more. Oh, I find the Sensodyne toothpaste helps, also..

I always drink room temp. too, seems to go down faster! But I am ready to get these last 6lbs off, so I will try anything. Breaking out the ice cubes!!! LOL.

You body has to work harder to raise the temperature of ice water to a temperate condition to be used, hence the extra calorie burn! I always drink my water as cold as I can stand it, which fortunately, is really cold XD.

I can't drink water unless it is ice cold. I've read this before in other books/magazine articles. Great advICE!.

LOVE my ice water...now I love it even more! Thanks, Adele! Did I tell you yet today how excited I am for you? Well, there you go!.

Congrats Tarah!!! Awesome job!!! You look so beautiful!!!.

I have heard that really cold water takes more calories to burn because the body has to warm it up to process it. I guess that may be true.

Thanks for the interesting info, but drinking ice water makes me extremely cold during the day. Anyone else have this issue?.

I havent noticed! But, Im sorry it makes you so cold! Does that happen with the shakes too?.
