Can the Tiffen Telephoto and Wide angle converter kit for the Nikon Coolpix 700 be used for the Coolpix 775? I was told that converter lenses are interchangeable for the various Coolpix cameras as long as I have the correct step down ring. Am trying to find out whether this is true. Help, please? Thanks...

We need to take extreme close-ups using a Nikon Coolpix 990 and I wonder if there is a converter lens that would give us those clean, crisp and clear extreme close-ups...

II a new cool pix 5000 owner. Before buying the fish eye (183) converter, I would like to test panoramic conversion to 360x180 equirectangular made from 2 pictures taken precisely back to back.

I would be please to get that from anyone who tried that.

Thanks for your help...

The accessory lens that works the best is a 50mm f1.4 lens from a 35mm camera. The lens is used reversed and matched to the digital camera. The zoom on the camera may be used, but a middle focal length works best. Focussing is done manually by moving the cameral closer or further from the subject. Ten X macro shots are incredibly detailed and show no distortion...

Most wide angle accessory lenses show a lot of barrel distortion, corner vignetting and color fringing near the edges. The barrel distortion can be corrected with a lens correction software (RadCor) and the corner vignetting can be partially cropped and fixed with a clone brush in Photoshop or equivalent software. A composite picture of two or three images can be effective. The advantage is that there is less foreshortening in the image since a normal or slightly wide angle focal length is used for the individual images. The camera must be perfectly level and the images must overlap about five per cent. The exists some stitching software or you can mate them manually by making objects of image (2) when mating with image (1) by adjusting the size and position to make a perfect blend.

Another advantage of this method is that the total number of pixels serve to make a smooth enlargement not possible with only one image file. Good luck. Attachments:.

Sorry, I gave you the wrong image. The right one is a corrected wide angle shot with a 28mm lens setting. Attachments:.

I have a Nikon 24-120mm lense with a 72mm filter lense. I've been looking to find out how much more would I get in using a Wide angle 2x or 3x lense.
