Why do you have different size images as far kb or mb that a image takes up I have noticed that no pictures are the same size when I order prints online each one has a different size file..

JPEG file size is based on the amount of detail in the image and the amount of compression (quality) saved at. Therefore each image of the same pixel dimensions will have different file sizes..

I use shutterfly and most of my prints are 4x6 I didnt know if my pictures are more in focus than others do you know any places that do a better job..

It has to do with compression and detail. A solid colored wall can be compressed more than a flower garden photo...

What do you mean "in focus"?.

Try to find a local lab that will work with you, it may be 3 cents more per print but worth it..

Get some decent imaging software (old versions of photoshop elements, say version 4 will do fine, maybe $15) and re-size your own images. For printing at a commercial lab you're looking at 300 pixels per inch (not dots but pixels). So a 4 x 6 print means a 1200*1800 pixel image, or about 2.2 megapixels..

For web display, drop that to 72 ppi and about 500 pixels high, this will yield a file size of about 100kb for web viewing..

The thing is, when you re-size you need to sharpen the image. Shuttefly does all this automatically but frankly decent software will always doa better job and you can set it up to do all your images at once so it takes about 3 minutes to do say 100 prints..
