The best thing you can do is Warn the Domaining community about his business practices. Not sure much you can do to recoup the spent funds...
How did you pay? If you used a credit card contact them for fraud if it was relatively recent... and yes post his info all around so we can watch out for him...
Definitely post your proof and his info in the warning section here so others can keep their eyes out for him...
If he has no intention of refunding then what I usually see on the warnings forum are paypal email addresses used by the scammer and name I think that's about it for others to steer clear away from him...
I would def. contact him first. See what he has to say and give him the opportunity to make up for what he has done. If he doesn't respond or take actions for what he did I would post his information on all of the forums, not just here.
Tell him you will expose him if he isn't going to make this right. It may not be worth going through a big hassle with paypal or whatever (depending on the price it may be though), but at least make others aware. Post his contact info..domains..forum username...anything someone could find if they were to do a little research before buying something from him...
I wouldn't pursue this legally, esp. since mid$xxx is not whopping.
But it wouldn't hurt to share as much of the story as possible, including what you know about him on namepros. so your fellow domainers won't get into the same situation..
O.k. I gave it a bit of thought. I dont feel it's really nice to display all the info I got about him so all I will share is this: He was a Namepros User but got banned: Freight1..
His old Paypal was but he said he closed the account so that I wont receive a penny tru the paypal dispute I have started. what a sucker, well shit comes back am certain about it...
Not sure about this..but you may wanna contact paypal regarding that. Considering he claims he closed it so you can't get a penny just makes him sound like more of a scammer. I don't know the full details how paypal works, but even if they closed his account, if he is verified they still have his bank information...
I don't think paypal would be that kind to you. If you sold it on Ebay then maybe there is a chance. Otherwise... Well...there is a reason behind paypalsucks.com you know..
Why not? You should feel obligated to protect other domainers from an obvious scammer...
