Do I purchase the package with the 18-135 with the 70-300 vr lens or the 18-135 with the 55-200 vr lens. What do you guys suggest?..

What are you going to do with the camera?.

Also since this is specific to NIKON you might want to post it in thier forum and get better quality feedback..

I'ld tell you to check out something that doesn't require you spending extra $$ on image stabilization in the lens which is required with Canikons..

MaddogOlympus E-510 and a bunch of stuff to hang on it...

This is the fifth thread that you have started in a couple of days on the same topic. How much advice do you need? At some point you will have to walk into a shop and make a decision, and only you can do that.Mike..

Well Mike. I appreciate you help. The previous threads were about which camera to buy. Now I need help in regards to which package to buy. I'm sorry if my asking bothers anybody in the forums...

There's no need to buy a package. You may well end up with stuff you don't need. If you know what camera you want to get, just get that and start playing. There will be a lot to learn. If you get it with something like the 18-135 it will do everything you want for a while..

The time to get a second lens is when you know exactly what you want, which will take some experience first..

Best wishesMike..

Well, I saw I was getting a good price on the package and I figured I was going to need a zoom lens eventually, so I just decided to purchase it now. Don't you think?..

You could wait and get the 16-85 VR that was just announce and prolly won't be availible for 6 months. I would get the 70-300 VR, it's a better lens. Since the 16-85 isn't out and we have no idea if it's very good you could get the 18-70. Many users say the quality of the 18-70 is better than the 18-135..

I got a tamron 17-50 f/2.8 because it wasn't much more than the kit zooms and is faster...

Well the reason why I am getting those two lenses is because the price of the package. It comes bundled. I figured it was a good deal from the comparison I have been doing..

If you are getting the 18-135 (I assume the camera you are getting is the D80), then skip the 55-200VR and get the 70-300VR..

With the 18-135, that 55-200VR is just a waste of money..

Actually, if I were you, I'd skip the 18-135 and get the 18-55 (or the new 18-55VF) and the 70-300VR..

Less crossover between lenses, and chances are you won't miss having that 56-69mm between the two lenses..

Well, the thing is that the 18-135 comes with the package and so does the 70-300. Unless I unload the 18-135 on ebay and purchase the other one...

Then I guess that you should get that package..

Is it the D80 you are getting?.

Yeah I am going to get the D80. Can you tell me what the advantage of having the 18-55 over the 18-135 is. The latter is more expensive I see...

The 18-55 is small and lightweight.and only $100 with the kit..

However, the 18-135 is a better all-in-one lens when you are hiking and only want to carry one lens, plus it is a $400 when you buy it separate and only $200 when purchased with the D80 kit..

Thank you very much for your help. I look forward to taking a lot of pictures with my new d80. I really appreciate your input...
