Bother ya! Well, I have falling off the wagon BIG time and let me tell you.....yes my SORRY self as been through a lot this last week and well..where to I turn for comfort ?? Yep you guessed it...FOOD!!!!.

So, yesterday I ate thanksgiving lunch here at work..big NONO...

Today I have two wheat bread toasts with some eggbeaters (small amount) but still OFF PLAN.....

Then now here at work I just spent 20 bucks yep you guessed it on OFF PLAN foods....

Milk shake, LARGE FRIES from the dreaded Mcd's.

And I bought 2 whole wheat turkey subs from Subway..(not to bad I guess) but not good!!!.

I can only imagine how much weight I will have gained after just this one week.! Well, I plan on going 100% tomorrow till thanksgiving then OFF again (i know stupid) but after that day...then Ill be dedicated 100% ON PLAN!!!! I definitely promise that to myself!!.

So, lookslike I wont be reaching that 100 pounds mark anytime soon.

Kinda feel like a failure!!!!.

How much you think I gained..I wonder but I'm not going to fuss over it...

Any of you who went off plan for a week or whatever it maybe how much did you gain? And how didi you get yourself back on track??.

Ok, confession to the world.

Sorry for not being such a huge inspiration....:0(..

I haven't gone off for a week, but I've had my moments of cheating. And I will say this:.

MF is the EASIEST program to get back on the horse!.

I've slipped up in other diets for 30 seconds and not been able to regain my footing. But with MF, I've cheated several times ... I mean, they weren't super large cheats, but for example the other day I did what you did and got some McDonald's - small fri and a cheeseburger..

I kicked myself in the head, got a good night's sleep (or what I could, I'm in a show that opens TONIGHT so rehearsals have been hell) and the next morning I had my oatmeal, made my grilled shrimp salad, and imagined myself next summer in a bikini..

If all you ate off plan was what you listed then I wouldn't imagine you gaining more than a pound or two, but I don't know your body. BUT, try not to focus on it. The only thing you can do is learn from it and move on ... you can't change it. Yes it was a dumb thing to do and yes it's going to prevent you from reaching your goal a little, but it's not a fatal mistake..

Trust me, I know exactly what you're going through. I posted a very similar rant the other day after my McDonald's cheat..

Ohh Steph! Well you know you messed up and have admitted it. How about instead of fussing about how much you potentially might have gained or set yourself back... think about the reasons that brought you to go OP. What were you feeling? Why? Trying to assess that might help you figure out the trigger that caused this episode.

And you will reach that 100lb mark! You will hop right back on track and get re-focused! Don't use this as an excuse to let your mind play tricks... you have been successful and will continue to be. So hop back on the MFin horse and get 'er done!.

Cheers,.

Been there done that. I moved over Halloween weekend and didn't take the time or the care to be on plan. I was just SOOO busy. But I didn't do horribly and the constant excercise probably helped. All throughout that week I struggled to get back on and then the following weekend my husband went away. I was puttering around the house all by myself and I became obsessed with food....brownies in particular.

I just concentrated and got back on plan.

Don't beat yourself up. Just don't throw it all away over a bad week. And if you can't get past Thanksgiving without indulging (not likely to happen here) you just keep going with the next meal. Its the entire journey that counts and how it turns out in the end, right?..

Steph - you can still do this and have done so great! I read your blog about going off plan and I am terrified about it. I am afraid that if I did go off plan, that it would be hard to get back on plan. Please don't beat yourself up, just forgive yourself..

I do wonder if you are planning to be off-plan again for Thanksgiving, if you should set a re-commit date after Thanksgiving and not have any plans to be off plan after that? I am not sure what would work best, but maybe that might help you mentally prepare again to stay 100% OP after Thanksgiving? That might be the worst suggestion ever, but if you go on for a few days, then off, then back on I wonder if that is worse? Personally, that would mess with my head more and get me more used to "cheating". Just a thought..

Maybe even do some motivation work, like making a list to keep with you or a motivation collage?.

Hang in there and if you need any support, feel free to reach out! YOU CAN DO THIS!..

First, from my personal experience (yours may be different), the longer I go off plan, the harder it is to get back on..

Second, stop beating yourself up. You made some bad choices. I'm sure you're feeling pretty crummy physically b/c your body isn't used to that kind of food. You've been punished enough. Move on and make a good choice!.

To do or not do the plan is completely within your control..

To answer your questions:.

Any of you who went off plan for a week or whatever it maybe how much did you gain? And how didi you get yourself back on track??.

When I wasn't too chicken to weigh in the next week, the weight gain varied incredibly (2-8 lbs) depending on how long I was off and what bad for me foods I ate..

Getting back on track for me is about going back to day 1 and remembering what I'm doing this for. Why do you want to lose weight? Make a list. I also found inspiration on these boards and in the blogs. Finally, take a good look at your before pictures. Remind yourself that is what the bad choices gave you in the first place. Look at yourself in the mirror now.

YOU CAN DO THIS!!!..

When I went off plan almost 2 years ago (for my daughter's wedding), I gained so much, so fast that I just chucked the whole thing. I gained back 45 pounds of the 55 I lost. And let me tell you, they were fluffy pounds. I was much bigger than I was before I started Medifast the first time. Fast forward to September 19, 2010 - a sister in my recovery group at church basically told me to get over myself and either quit compulsively overeating or stop coming to group. So, that night, I got over myself, forgave myself for going off plan two years ago and got back on plan.

All because I was too stubborn to forgive myself..

It is your choice and yours alone, but unless we can forgive and move forward, the cycle will continue. For today.....I choose to stay on plan. We can do this. With the support of one another and the great plan that medifast gives us.

One day at a time,.

Steph, put last week behind you and look to today. You can do this.

To answer your questions from my recent experience. I just got back from a week's vacation and my DH and I decided to take a planned break from Medifast as well. First thing I did when we got home was weigh-in that first morning back...up 8.5 pounds. Not unexpected, but, I didn't let that bother me. We both went immediately back 100% on plan and this morning (after only 3 days 100% on plan) all 8.5 pounds of my "vacation bloat" are gone..

I know, this is a little different than your situation. My "cheating" week was planned and I was mentally prepared for the consequences and totally committed to jumping right back on plan when it was over. But, what I am trying to say is that the weight you may have gained back WILL go away again, once you are back on plan..

Don't give up. It may take you a little longer to reach your goal, but you WILL get there!..

Steph, you mentioned that this week was a rough one for you and you went off plan. And as far as truely bad choices go.... the McD's is the only "bad" choice.... Subway will be enjoyed when you are at goal and in maintenance at some point... it's just not approved right now. I can tell you right now that the holidays are going to be soooo difficult.

My plan is to stay on plan... I do not know if I can be as strict as I am now, but I am going for it! I am going to stay on plan for Thanksgiving... no rolls, potatoes, stuffing, gravy.... Just turkey, green beans and spinach... a Medifast pumpkin pie recipe.

Throw your guilt away, make no excuses for yourself. Drink your water and then drink some more water. There is nothing stopping you. Nothing. You are a beautiful person... be good to yourself...

I expect many of us on these boards will struggle with food for the rest of our lives at times, but I intend to do that a my goal weight......

Yes!!! That's the long and the short of it. Thanks for that bit of wisdom, Sara.

And Steph, you've done great for a long time and you WILL lose the weight...I know it. (((hugs)))..

Hey Steph,.

Are you getting your head and hands around the "stuff" that's going on in your life? Are you asking for help? Are others helping you?.

If you can feel like you've made progress in that area, I think you'll have no trouble getting back in the groove. You are an inspiration to many here - no matter what! We dig you hon! Stay well and keep coming back to the boards...
