how do I post my images ?
I've been following this forum for over a month now, I must say I really love it. As a new photographer I have learned allot..

I can't seem to paste my pics onto this forum. No problem pasting a hyper link to my "flicker account" but I would like to paste the picture as most others are doing..

Any suggestions ? .

John..

Errr, just type in the direct link to your picture. e.g. I type ".

" (without the quotes).

And get the picture:.

I still don't get how to post a picture. Do you actually have to have a Web site or can you link to the folder the picture is in on one's own PC? Bob L...

Embedding images (only available to registered users) - To embed an image or photograph simply paste (or type) the URL (web address) of the image into your message.

The Rules/Help says 'web address'. You should interpret that to mean that yes, you -do- need a web address and the Rules/Help section isn't just there to mislead you...

I guess I'm a registered user since I'm able to post, correct? How do I know what the URL is of the picture I'm trying to post? I'm sitting here with my PC with folders of pictures but I don't actually have a Web site of my own. I'm still confused. Bob L...

DPReview cannot store a copy of your picture and we cannot access the storage on your computer (be grateful for that!) so the picture has to be stored on an independent picture hosting site somewhere on the web..

It is THAT site which you must register with... (or, in better English, "with which you must register") .

There are quite a few of these hosting sites to choose from. DPReview itself uses 'Fotki' for storing camera review images. The Fotki link is on this site's "links" page..

This link has been copied from the above links page.....

Or Google "picture hosting" .....

Upload your pictures to the site of your choice (some offer a 'basic service' which is free) by following the instructions made available to you..

Then follow the instructions for posting URLs, either with or without the 'JPG' suffix that makes the picture open in your post without needing to be clicked on.Regards,Baz..

I have found this site to be quite a good host site, upload your pitures here, (FREE) and then copy the url into this page.http://s185.photobucket.comhttp://s185.photobucket.com/.../albums/x223/eirianfa2002/?mediafilter=imagesMike Rudge..

Huh? I'm not going to try to sign up there again, but isn't there some way to decline that 'service'? That sounds like a scam of some sort. Photobucket isn't a scam site. Once you're in, photobucket is quick and easy to use, and free...
