How do I post actual pictures in my post?
I know how to place a link but cannot figure out how people are putting in actual pictures in their posts...

You dont place a picture in your post. You place a link to the picture, and by converntion, your (and mine) web browser retrieve that files and displays in on the page..

# Embedding images (only available to registered users) - To embed an image or photograph simply paste (or type) the URL (web address) of the image into your message (eg. ".

Image control:Zoom outZoom 100%Zoom inExpand AllOpen in new window.

"), images more than 480 pixels wide will be scrollable. To link to an image WITHOUT EMBEDDING IT simply add a semicolon (;) to the end of the url (eg. http://hostname.com/images.jpg).

I tried it but let me try again. I only have my photos on flickr..

Is this right? If not, what am I doing wrong. I read the directions you posted before even posting this message and it did not work for me. Hope this works..

OK, I see it isn't working because it is not a jpg at the end. What site hosts for free that will work here? Flickr doesn't see to be an option...

Can I ask how you did that and how I can use flickr to do some others? I have others I would like to have C&C in the Nikon forum..

Thanks for helping me...

There are several ways to do it..

1. Within Flickr, right-click on the photo, select properties, then copy/paste the location2. Click on the size you want displayed. Flickr will display a page that says:To link to this photo on other websites you can either:.

1. Copy and paste this HTML into your webpage:2. Grab the photo's URL:.

Copy/paste the URL in #2.

Warm regards,DOF..

I feel so silly. It was on the bottom of the flickr page but I did not scroll down enough to read it. Thanks..

I like the giraffe, especially the juxtaposition of the OOF vertical tree next to the giraffe..

I also like the zebra, except I would insert the standard comment about leaving more room on the right-side of the picture for the animal to "trot" intoWarm regards,DOF..

I agree on the zebra shot. I don't particularly like it for that reason alone but most like it for the cute factor. I really thought I was lucky on most shots because my goal was looking at the animals first and if there was time, take a shot after. This was not a photography trip. Sometimes, I was so memorized, I would forget to take a picture and when the guide would say, ok we are going, I was rushed to take something..

I have not even edited or cropped anything yet. I haven't even installed the software Nikon gave me with the camera. I think I even shot all my pictures on auto because I did not read the manual. Now that I have time, I want to do all those things, and take some classes...

I'm going to test out posting a picture to this thread from a website. If it does work, sorry I bothered you. If it doesn't work, sorry I bothered you. .

After about 3-1/2 months on this forum, I just learned today that you can do a preview of your post and if it doesn't do what you expected change or delete it. Below the text box where you are entering your message is a button to "Preview". Click on it instead of "Post" and you won't be disappointed if you don't display the link or picture that you expected..

So much to learn!.
