Hey guys.

My buddies an I are looking to move our blogger.com blog onto our own domain..

We have decided to use namecheap.com for a domain name and, possibly, hostmonster for hosting.

I would like to know what the WF reaction to hostmonster is? Is there a better deal with another host?.

We will be building a lot more sites in the future so unlimited domains is an important feature...

I know someone who uses it. Their uptime is good but the Cpanel and FTP thing is ass...

From what I hear the performance at HostMonster is pretty good. You'll be using your own ftp client anyway.....

I've been using hostmonster since I switched to them about six months ago. I haven't had any complaints.

The Cpanel used by hostmonster is cPanel, which is a pretty standard control panel used by shared hosting providers. I do wish they'd switch to another cPanel theme, but functionally, it's all the same. I don't ever use it much except for domain and email related tasks. I'm glad that they use cPanel and not some proprietary control panel.

As far as the FTP being "ass", I don't know what you're talking about. As far as I'm concerned, FTP is FTP. Get a good FTP client, or just map it as a network drive in windows and you're good to go..

The two things that weighed the most in my decision to go with hostmonster were the availability of SSH (can't live without it) and the fact that they don't place restrictions on the number of domains per account..

Also, hostmonster is the sister company of bluehost, by Matt Heaton. When you sign up for hostmonster, you're essentially getting a bluehost account with more features and a lower price...

At the end of the day... if you take a look over at realmetrics.com they have a shared web hosting section, you can find the performing hosts and the not so well performing hosts on there.....

HostMonster is a quality host and since they offer unlimited domains they will work well for you. If you haven't decided yet I would also look into Lunarpages and Hostican...

I host multiple domains with Hostmonster and so far I don't have any complain either. As for the cpanel utiity, the theme is not so great but functionality is the same as that offered by other hosting companies I've hosted domains in. So no issue with that..

Hope that helps from my personal experience...

I highly recommend HostGator.com for hosting. I personally use them and host 2 different domains with them. It has been a piece of cake to get nameservers working, domain transfering, and multiple domains on one account. Cost is only $10 for unlimited domains and well worth it. Better than the others that are less than $10, you get what you pay for. Control panel works great, overall a winner..

Plus once you sign up with them, you can become an affiliate and make $50 a lead! I made $100 in the first week recommending my buddies to them because they were so good...
