Help with Canon G9 filters
I just received a set of Hoya filters for my G9, to fit over the conversion lens adapter, 58mm in size, and they are too small??!! What did I do wrong? I have to wait till Monday to hear back from the place I ordered from, and I had a really hard time finding out what size to get in the first place, all info points to 58mm. Any advice? I'm terribly new at all of this, and I could get hooked here really fast, you guys are great!..

I too would have thought 58mm filters to be correct..

I take it you've got the Canon LA-DC58H Conversion Lens Adapter - if so, 58mm is the correct filter size..

It might sound a strange question, but have the shop sent you the right size filters?.

Good luck on Monday!.

Look at the filters that were sent to you, and make sure you see the 58mm on them somewhere. You may have been sent 55mm by mistake..

Hopefully you will be able to exchange for the proper size..

The "58" in the conversion lens Adapter LA-DC58H designation refers to it's M58 thread, so presumably your filters are in fact the wrong size..

Their diameter will be printed around the outside edge of the filter surround and will probably look like 58mm..

Thanks so much for your replies, I had NO idea they were here, I expected an e-mail notification to replies! I will just have to bookmark this forum.

My problem, I was trying to "pop" them on rather than flip them to the other side and screw them on. They were actually the correct size, but they sure had me baffled until my son pointed out my folly. No, I did not take the photography technology equipment threading class. Yes, my roots are blond...

No problems LOL! Glad it's all sorted..

And even an old bloke like me has a few "blonde days". But I call 'em "grey days" ...........
