Help! Wierd image from my Canon IXUS V3
Something really bad has gone wrong with my Canon IXUS V3! I think it's CCD is somehow damaged. Check out these photos. The last thing I adjusted the settings before I got these images was when I'm indoor with fluorescent lighting. I set the white balance with a gray card. After that I shot about 10 photos, then I headed to the outdoor. I found out that it's LCD was showing everything in purple.

FYI, it's using the latest firmware from Canon. I'd ran through a simple experiment and found out that the ISO got something to do to cancel out the purple colour. Can anyone explain what's happening to my camera? Is is possible to fix it? Attachment:Wrong1.jpg..

Ugly. Try to reset the camera to factory defaults. If it doesnt help, a trip to Canon service seems a good idea. Guillermo..

I can't set that in the menu. Okay, I guess I'll have to bring it to the centre, if I got the time. But any explaination on what's happening?..

Edmund, I have a PS A70 and this weekend I had exactly the same problem as yours. My son borrowed the camera and left it under the sun for some time. I don't know if this was the cause but the pictures come out exactly like yours. It is now at the Canon Service Center and they still have not come back with the reason for the breakdown. Initial findings was CCD problem. Appreciate if you can let me know the diagnosis of your camera as well...

I thought I was the only one with the problem. They do share the same CCD I guess. I never left mine under the sun (it's really warm in Malaysia), it is always beside my PC or in my pocket. I'd bought mine for more more than a year, so it's not under any warranty anymore...

I send it for repair and the quoted repair cost is RM503, that is around US$130. They said it's the "Optical Unit"'s fault. I opt for trade-in, and now waiting for them to give me the price for new cameras, I'd been waiting for almost a month, the marketing dpt of Canon seem really slow at this.....
