Help! I cant stop cheating on Medifast?

I do great on medifast up until late afternoon. I continue my medifast meals, but I also eat sunflower seeds or sometimes cheese. I need help??? Any advice?..

Try sipping hot tea instead. It really does help to drink a warm flavored drink and not just cold drinks...

Can you manage with 10 almonds or one string cheese. They are on program. Also, are you having some of your lean earlier in the day? Maybe some for lunch. Sounds like you are reaching for protein so maybe eating some protein lunch would help with your mid afternoon hunger...

If you have a string cheese it's 1/4 of your lean, so subtract it from your L&G..

You don't have a ticker. Do you have more than 50 pounds to lose? You might switch to 4&2 to get you started, and go back to 5&1 when you're smaller..

You're also going to have to figure out if it's physical or mental/emotional. If the former, do 4&2 and you'll have more protein and won't need to cheat. If the latter, well, either STOP IT and deal with the mental/emotional fallout, or if that's impossible, get some therapy to help figure out why you are unable to stop sabotaging yourself. I've definitely sought outside counsel to deal with my food issues, and it was invaluable..

Just remember that 2 spears is your snack for the day. Even pickles are very limited in quantity...

I have been setting out a plate full of chopped up celery for the family to munch on through the day and that has been working for me. Plus my kids are munching on it too so I feel like I am not left out of their snacks too. I did not know string cheese was part of the lean. That may help me in the afternoons too...

My advice is about that time go take a walk and get your mind off of it. Come back drink a few glasses of water and move forward. I would also remove that stuff from the house, so you won't be tempted. I find if I'm bored I tend to feel hungrier and less able to deal with it...

I always eat extra protein throughout the day when hunger hits me. I just go into the kitchen and eat a few bites of baked chicken. It takes the edge off the hunger and keeps me feeling strong. also, it saves some of my Medifast meals for the later part of the day, so they feel like snacks I am getting. I am 200% satisfied with my weight loss too...

It also depends on the fat content of the string cheese. If it's leaner a string cheese could end up being 1/6 of your lean...

Slice up cucumbers and have it with you. Save one of your meals for your weakest time...

All these suggestions listed are great.

Have you tried the "One Day at a Time" approach?.

Can you be OP for a whole day? If not, try to be OP for the next hour. If you pass the hour mark, try again for the next hour, or until your next " Medifast meal"..

If one hour seems too long, can you hold out and remain OP for the next 20 minutes? Then the next 20? I'll bet you can do anything for 20 (or 10) minutes at a time..

Break your difficult times into smaller increments and work on holding out for that long. You can do this. You will be proud you did. And you will be successful. Remember the fantastic feeling when the scale shows a loss. And when your clothes fit better.

Worth it. You are too! I felt I was a better Mom when I was healthier. I was more active with the kids and had a terrific attitude too. I liked "me" better. Your self image shows while interacting with others..
