Glass enclosures at the zoo
My daughter's class is going to the zoo next week and I'm really excited because I get to take along my new Canon xsi!! But I'm trying to think about how to take pictures of the animals if they are behind glass. Does anyone out there have any tips?Thanks!..

1) You will get reflections.. a polarizer may or maynot help.

2) Like a mirror, shoot at a 40-50 degree angle to avoid "The Photographers" reflection in the picture.3) use Center Weighted metering so the Glass has the least effect on exposure..

4) use a higher ISO to avoid flash on the Glass it may scare the creature too..

I am sure there are other ideas that should work too..

Put the lens right against the glass to prevent reflections?..

No flash, lens hood as close to glass as possible, as others said..

Also, befriend a zookeeper to get VIP access.....

Carry a small bottle of hand sanitizer and some paper towels to clean the glass prior to shootingjeffmoved outta the red-light district..

Also, if possible, wear a black shirt. You can adjust your body to block out any stray reflections on the glass that even pressing the lens against the glass can't eliminate if you're slightly angled.Insert pretentious obligatory quote here.....
